Chapter 49 - <Season Two [Start]>

"Ah, shit, here we go again," the seer sighed, sitting in a crouched position.

It was a beautiful morning here on the outskirts of the Forest of Doom. It was relatively less dangerous here in the outskirts and was but a 1-hour walk away from the Gu's.

The seer found a little cave atop a grassy mound where there was a hot spring and a running river with crystal-clear water. And decided to set up a wooden shed right adjacent to the hot spring.

It was a small but comfortable little shack. It had a kitchen with all the modern equipment he borrowed from the Gu's. It was rather congested, and no more than 3 people could squeeze into the tiny kitchen at one time.

But then again The Seer was aiming for the hermit's life.

Right outside the one singular room with one window on the left wall where a small bed was attached.

Just like the kitchen, the room was full of cupboards and such. Right against the bed were dressers and drawers with room for only slightly more than one person to walk through.

On the far end, opposite the door to the kitchen, was a large showcase that spanned from the left wall to the right. All furniture is made of wood. And adjacent to the showcase was a door out of the house. And, of course, the showcase had a television hung on it.

The house only had 2 rooms - one kitchen and the other a bedroom/hall/dining room, etc.

The seer had only woken up and gotten dressed to go out and take a bath. He now wore simple clothing, nothing as fancy as he used to, but a sword still, just in case.

He opened the door to a beautiful landscape of greenery. Only to have actually opened it to a landscape of blood and death.

What was till yesterday evenly spaced tall trees that allowed for but little golden rays to fall on the ground was now full of unevenly spaced dead bodies.

Some hung on branches, some lay on the ground, arrows and swords sprouting from each.

And right at the door lay a beautiful, extravagantly dressed, beautiful white-haired, and fair-skinned woman. She refused to be counted among the dead just yet.

Alive, although she was, she barely clung to dear life. Each second is fatal. And unlike Li Mei, unconscious.

And the seer, with his hands on his right cheek, pondered yet again.

"Hahhhhhhhh," the seer sighed as he cracked his neck.

"I can swear this happens to me all the time," the seer complained as he sat down properly to continue his calculations.

The seer took another look around. The men killed all over were likely assassins from a different province. And this lady here was probably some high-stature person of importance for them to send so many.

"Ah, goddamit, that fucker ruined my lawn," the seer jumped up, completely forgetting about the woman who still clung to life.

The seer promptly got to work. One body after another, he cleaned. He eventually piled them all up next to his house, not knowing what to do with them. It took him his entire morning. He took his bath.

His stomach now growled for food.

But almost as soon as he got back to his shed and opened the door.

"Oops, sorry... I forgot... still alive, I see... ah, fuck," the seer once again went into his rambling, leaning over the dying person he had accidentally stepped on.

"What if people come for me if I save you... what if they come if I don't... think I will cremate all your dead bodies... but you're still alive, I can't cremate you... I should leave you to die... nothing ever good comes of this... but then again, I made two exceptions, and those paid off... but I don't need exceptions anymore..." the seer continued to ponder.

"Ugh, fuck it, I can always kill you later if you are a bitch," the seer groaned as he dragged her into his little shed.

She was in a much more horrible condition than one might think - 4 to 5 poison arrows protruding out of her back, an almost split-open skull bleeding profusely, two deep wounds on the abdomen, a scratched-up face, One bludgeoned arm, and a broken leg. And she still managed to look exceptionally beautiful, even while beaten red and purple all over.

"Well, I can't get blood transfusions. This is hopeless, I hope you die while I try to do my best to save you," the seer said as he tightened his gloves and put on a mask. He placed her on top of his bed and decided to get rid of the arrows first.

That process was not too difficult, but outside that, there was not much the seer could do but just... mummify her. The seer could make poison, not an antidote. And the only medical knowledge the seer had was basically so he can treat himself.

He could heal things like bullet wounds and stab wounds, not poisons and fractures. I mean fractures he could but he had no equips for it.

And so the seer just applied basic antiseptics and medicines, Stitch the open wounds, and mummified her with bandages. As that was all he could do. Her chances of survival remained slim still.

"I'll go herb hunting or something?" the seer murmured as he left his house.

The stench of the blood outside was still present and rather revolting, but nothing could be done about it. Neon could only hope that it be wiped off eventually by 3 or 4 rain showers.

Just as he was about to embark, the seer realized, "Oh, wait, I know nothing about herbs..."

And so he went back inside the house.

The showcase had many books, and the seer was sure there must be books on medical care and herbs. So he surfed through and read until midnight, and then he fell asleep on the chair.

The next day was routine for the seer. His new guest would not wake up anytime soon, although he knew not when.

"Jeez, I completely mummified her and she still manages to look pretty. That sure is scary. I don't want any more trouble... I swear I would have burned her alive if she didn't look like you..." Neon continued his patrol, collecting essentials to cook.

He essentially cooked whatever he felt like. There was an abundance of resources here in the Forest of Doom, and the seer was in the mood for baking today.

And so he thought, 'Hey, remember seeing bees in the southside caves?'

And towards those, he went.
