Moro desperately wanted to clarify that it wasn't him spreading those rumors—it was that loudmouth Jiraiya.
Thankfully, Jiraiya was training at Mount Myōboku, but the weight of those rumors still fell on Moro. If he ever got the chance, Moro vowed to teach Jiraiya a lesson for all the trouble he had caused him.
In the past, Moro couldn't beat Jiraiya and had to hold in his anger, but now things were different. He couldn't wait to see Jiraiya's face when he witnessed Moro's newfound strength.
Sakumo Upon hearing that his subordinates had been talking about Moro, he kindly put a stop to it. "Don't argue, there could be enemies here at any time along the border! Show some seriousness!"
Moro also understood that the story of Sakumo giving up a mission to save his teammates wasn't far-fetched. This Kage-level powerhouse was indeed very easygoing, but unfortunately, he wasn't understood by his teammates and was forced to commit suicide.
It was truly sad and lamentable. Moro thought that if he had a chance in the future, he might help this honest man to prevent such a powerful warrior from dying because of his own people.
The journey afterward was much quieter, but the Inuzuka clan's scouting ninja gave Moro a hostile look. This puzzled Moro—he had never even met this person, so why the hatred?
After returning to the station, Sakumo did not assign teammates to Moro. The squads were complete, each with four people, and adding Moro would be awkward. Sakumo didn't understand why the higher-ups suddenly sent Moro, he didn't tell the village he need manpower.
Given Moro's awkward position and the lack of teammates, Sakumo invited Moro to join his team. "Why don't you join my team for now? I'll send you over when I see which side needs manpower."
Moro shook his head. "No, I prefer to go on missions alone."
Moro wasn't antisocial he just needed time to train. He didn't want to show Sakumo his Logia abilities or train while patrolling. That would be proper sabotage, he couldn't be lazy with the leader around.
Listening to Moro's words, the Inuzuka man's brow furrowed. "Damn brat, I see you're scared. your Kenjutsu skill pales in comparison to the elite! And yet You claim to have defeated elite ninja what a joke!"
Sakumo didn't expect such harsh words and stood up hurriedly. "Hidetaka, we're all comrades-in-arms. How can you say such things?"
Inuzuka Hidetaka lowered his head but didn't apologize. Even Moro, known for his good temper, couldn't help but feel provoked. "You all doubt my Kenjutsu skills? Fine, I'll show you my strength!"
[Ding! Given the host status, the system gives three options
[Option 1: Challenge Sakumo Hatake , regardless of the outcome. Reward: Hawkeye's swordsmanship].
[Option 2: Be a salted fish, just do nothing Reward: Kotoamatsukami].(1)
[Option 3: Defeat Inuzuka Hidetaka. Reward: 100 million ryo.]
Options will be determined by the system based on the host's actions. ]
The first option was the most appealing. Hawkeye was the number one swordsman in the One piece, and mastering his swordsmanship would vastly improve Moro's skills.
He didn't even consider the third option it didn't comparable at all to the others, and Moro had no interest in money. Kotoamatsukami was powerful, but there was too many things to to consider And it was not as enticing as the first option.
Moro made his choice. "Lord Sakumo, I've always wanted to see your strength. How about a sparring match?"
Although Sakumo and Moro were about the same age, their different levels of strength meant they had never officially met. Sakumo, known as a good man but also a genius, and had long been interested in Moro, especially after hearing Jiraiya's evaluation of him.
"Are you sure you want to spar? The sword has no eyes you might get hurt," Sakumo warned, though his words sounded a bit harsh to Moro. However, Moro knew the intent wasn't to mock.
"Of course. To be honest, I've always wanted to see the Kenjutsu technique of The White Fang!"
"Since that's the case, I'll accompany you. I'm curious about your skills as well!"
The duel was set. It was early morning, and many in the station hadn't gone out to patrol. Upon hearing about the duel, they all ran to watch. Without a training ground, they found a relatively empty place and got ready to fight.
"You go first. As the senior, it's only fair I give you the first move."
Moro shed his usual laziness and transformed into a warrior ready for battle. His entire demeanor shifted, exuding a deadly aura honed through years of life-and-death struggles. Sakumo, who had initially underestimated him, now regarded Moro with grave seriousness.
"Here it comes!!" Moro roared as he launched his attack. His thunderous energy erupted in a blinding blue light. Moving with a speed that defied perception, his blade was already inches from Sakumo's eyes.
