"We want you to act as bait to lure the bastard out," Caspian said, rendering the man speechless.
"What the fuck!? I might as well just get killed right then and there!" Mitchell gritted his teeth.
"Don't worry; someone will be watching you 24/7 in the shadows. We will not let you get killed," Caspian said calmly, understanding why Mitchell was angry.
"Aren't you policemen!? That would be endangering someone!"
"Only two of us are policemen. I am Detective Caspian Ashwood, and all of us are part of the Bureau of Supernatural Beings. Well, I wanted you to register back at the bureau first, but the situation changed, and now would be the perfect time to lure that bastard out."
"You don't really have a choice in this matter, Mister Graham, but we just wanted to give you the courtesy of letting you know what will happen," Caspian said as he tugged on his coat. "Well, that's about it, Mister Graham. We'll be taking our leave."
"You're just gonna end it like that!?" Mitchell screamed as he stood up.
Lucia, who was on the side, glared at him, causing him to shrivel up in fear. Seeing this, she snickered lightly. They then all headed outside and left Mitchell inside. But as they walked, Caspian asked, "So, who's gonna keep an eye on him?"
Abby couldn't help but laugh as she heard this, "You're really just like your mother, deciding everything without even thinking how it's gonna happen."
Hearing that, Caspian scratched his head as he was indeed rash in deciding things without proper permission.
Silence echoed between them until Natalie broke the silence and said, "We'll be informing the captain about that matter. Let's leave it to Lucia to watch him in the distance for now."
Lucia simply flicked her cigarette with her index finger to knock down the ash hanging by a thread and said, "I can do just that; I have nothing better to do anyway."
She then separated from them and headed inside Mitchell's home to inform him of the matter. After that, she left for who knows where.
Now that the matter had been dealt with, Caspian asked, "Well, shall we head back?"
However, before they left, Abby suggested, "How about we go to the bureau together since we also have to inform her about other pieces of evidence that we found and the clue."
Caspian thought about it, but in the end, he agreed. Naida, Natalie, and Irene had no problems with it, so they decided to go together. They then entered the car with Abby driving and headed to the bureau immediately.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Caspian couldn't help but admire how well-hidden the bureau was, as people wouldn't expect something as large as the bureau branch headquarters to be hidden in a forest. Not only that, there were no traces of buildings whatsoever.
As they closed in, Abby stepped on the brakes. Suddenly, the ground shook, albeit lightly, as it revealed a small space to enter through after about fifty meters of dirt and stone. Abby then entered through the gap, and the mechanism started again, leading them down while returning the forest to its previous look.
Underground, there was another elevator that led at least three kilometers down. As they arrived, they parked the car, got out, and immediately headed to Grace's office.
A knock was then heard on her door, causing her to tilt her head while she was reading some documents. She then said, "Come in."
Without any hesitation, Caspian and the others entered the room. Grace was somewhat taken aback that Caspian and Abby were here, so she asked, "Abby and Caspian, why are you here?"
"Oh, we're just here to inform you about some things, and I have to visit my parents today," Abby said with a bitter smile.
Grace laughed as she heard that. She then said, "Mike and Ava really missed their daughter, huh? Alright, I won't keep you for long since they probably already know that you're here."
"Oh, I didn't know you were gonna visit your parents," Caspian said.
Grace then glanced at Caspian as she said, "You should come with her. You probably haven't had them in a very long time."
"I will gladly do so," Caspian chuckled as he sat down along with Abby.
Grace's face then turned solemn as she said, "So, what did you guys want to inform me?"
Abby then tilted her head to look at Caspian as she said, "You should explain, Caspian."
Caspian nodded as he started speaking. "Well, all in all, we're here to inform you of two things. We found some crucial clues about the killer and a possible clue about his whereabouts; Lastly, we located a possible target who managed to awaken his supernatural abilities. Right now, Lucia is keeping guard of him back in the Cromwell district."
"Hmm, what are those pieces of evidence?" Grace asked seriously.
"We suspect that the killer might have the evolution of a Half-step Noble Vampire such as yourself as he managed to hypnotize someone to the point of worshiping them, AKA, the recent victim."
"We also have a picture containing a building that seemed to be located in the Rosewell district, but we haven't made our move because of the fact that the killer might be a Half-step Noble Vampire."
"I see… thank you for informing me about that," Grace said as she took a breath and noted down some stuff on a blank document. "About Lucia, I know you probably just temporarily assigned her as the watcher, but I'll be sending a few more people, a tad bit weaker than Lucia, but they will do there to guard him and let Lucia join you guys again."
"As for the investigation of that place… I will join you guys since I can't send anyone else," Grace said as she placed down her pen and smiled.
"Well, that's about it. I think I'm free tomorrow, so we should be able to head there immediately," Grace then glanced at Abby and Caspian and added, "You guys can head out. These three will stay here for now. Oh, and Abby, tell your parents I said hi. I haven't really visited them in a few months."
"Sure. Let's go, Caspian," Abby then pulled Caspian up as they headed out.
But before they could leave, Grace spoke in a teasing manner, "And don't go overboard. You might get pregnant in the middle of work."
This caused Abby and Caspian's faces to turn red as they left the office and headed to Abby's parent's house within the residential area of the bureau. Caspian couldn't help but marvel at how big this place was. It was about the size of three districts of Haverfall combined.
"I never realized the scale of how many supernaturals there are in the world," Caspian muttered, causing Abby to smile.
"There are a lot of us… scattered all over the world. This place… barely touches our amount," She then clasped her hands behind her back while lightly glancing at Caspian, accentuating her curves.
Caspian couldn't help but admire her as he smiled, "Yeah…."
They then walked for a couple of minutes, and finally, they arrived at a rather large house. Abby then proudly said, "This is it."
"Woah, your house is massive," Caspian said in astonishment.
"Nah, it's not mine. I wish it were mine, but I don't have credit for it. After all, this is my parents' hard work after working for the bureau for a very long time. Come on, let's go in!" Abby pulled Caspian and entered the house.
As they entered, she shouted, "Mom, Dad! I'm back~!"
"Oh, honey~! I missed you so much!" Abby's mom, Ava, hurriedly ran toward the entrance and gave Abby a tight hug. She then faced Caspian and said, "Oh my~! Caspian! How are you, dear~! It's been a long time, hasn't it? I didn't think I would meet you here at the bureau! You know how shocked I was when Abby told me you awakened!?"
"Oh, how rude of me. Let's go to the kitchen and eat some lunch. I've prepared a lot," Ava then led them toward the kitchen and revealed a bountiful amount of food, causing their mouths to water slightly.
Caspian then said, "That's right, I forgot about this… Abby, how did you only learn how to cook when I taught you? Your mother cooks better than me!"
Ava couldn't help but smile as she said, "You know, she always had a crush on you! Of course, she's gonna learn it from her crush!"
Caspian couldn't help but chuckle at that as Abby's face had a red tinge of embarrassment on it. Seeing the lack of reaction from the two, she couldn't help but ask, "Oh? I thought you'd be more flustered than that… Well, I guess it was obvious that she had a crush on you before. I don't know about it now, though. But still, your reaction is somewhat fishy…."
Hearing this, Caspian couldn't help but look at Abby while asking, "Your mom doesn't know?"
"Yeah, she doesn't."
"Why haven't you told her?"
Abby simply shrugged her shoulders, but Ava was very curious, "Huh? What don't I know? Are you guys keeping a secret?"
"Just tell her," Caspian beckoned Abby.
"Alright, fine…."
"Mom, Caspian is my boyfriend."
