Eva waited for him to continue with his request. Somehow, she knew what he would ask of her. It was evident from the mark on his back and the desperation in his eyes that this man was looking for a woman, the owner of that mark that seemed to be fading by the second, barely alive and barely strong.
"I want you to help me find someone. Like you, my wife was kidnapped, but I don't know by whom..."
The others looked at the man, some of them recognized him well because they belonged to the same clan. Others just sighed wearily. They wanted nothing to do with the personal affairs of others. It was a nuisance, but they couldn't do anything if the pureblood told them to.
"I will offer you my life and my services whenever you want, and I will be loyal to you forever," Isaiah knelt on one knee as knights used to swear in his day. It was an oath that offered his life for eternity.
That noble and strange act left Eva thinking seriously.
