The piece of parchment seemed to be a part of an old book, it looked old and about to fall apart. There were little cracks in the corners and the ink was almost translucent and about to disappear.
"What are you talking about, Grandpa? Blood magic?" Marina looked at the old man with skepticism as always. This must be one of his strange stories of special beings.
"That's right," the old man held out the scroll with enthusiasm. "It is said that hundreds of years ago, maybe thousands, there were beings with incredible powers, who could defy nature, and could also extend their lives for a long time."
Marina breathed tiredly, here we go again. "Are you talking about vampires, Grandpa?"
"Yes," Grandpa smiled. "And now I have proof of their existence."
The man showed her the sheet of parchment containing letters of an ancient alphabet and pointed to the lines of words.
