"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Hart."
A tall but elderly man walked towards them, wearing a tuxedo and bow tie. As if he were the perfect butler, he approached them and greeted them gracefully.
Eva agreed with a twinkle in her eyes, the man looked good, dignified and attentive. She knew that the man was at least five hundred years old, and he was already walking his last days on earth, but he seemed neither thirsty for blood nor hungry for life. His eyes still reflected the clarity of his mind, and the serenity of his age.
"My name is Lucian, I have served Madame Aubert, mistress and owner of Elliot Island for many years," the man continued, "she has asked me to take you with her to discuss recent affairs."
"Good, then we'll follow you, Mr. Lucian," Eva said with a smile. She wondered what king of Madame Aubert was to retain a man of such marvelous condition as her faithful servant.
