"Are you mad! That is a high price you and your friends will ask of us." The chieftain's wife Inga voiced her shock at this request.
Chief Borgare kept quiet, waiting to hear the reason these mercenaries are asking for this high price.
"Hey, now we think it to be a fair asking rate, I mean, we aren't dealing with just anything normal here. It is a demon and not to forget that there is also another that controls it, and they may be a powerful being to face against." Rey explains this to the Lady.
"And how do we know that you are not trying to just cheat us out of giving you the money and leaving with it when the chance is there for the taking." The advisor said to make the local people share that feeling.
Rey laughs for a short time." The same can be said for you people here who might try to get us to do all the work and don't get our payment instead find ourselves to be backstabbed."
"So what are suggestions here so that both parties don't have a reason to not trust the other." Borgare wants this to come into a settlement agreement that both sides are pleased with.
"That is an easy one, my friend. We get half of the pay now, and the rest after the job is done. We even bring back proof, so you can believe it with your own eyes and how the head sounds about a good thing to bring back." Rey said with a smug smile.
"I don't care whatever piece of the body you bring back here, I just want to know it is dead and will no longer keep on killing my people," Borgare tells the man as his answer.
"Good to know and that of our deal made which I hope is to be kept by your words chief," Rey says as he returns his comrades and waits for the first payment to be brought to them.
The advisor brings himself to the right side of his chief ear to talk at a low volume.
"Are you sure you want to do this, my chief? Certainly, we have our men to deal with the matter without the need of these people." The man does not like the idea of having to pay mercenaries.
"He told my husband surely these matters can be handled by our own hands." Inga agreed after hearing this when sitting beside him.
"Look, I can understand how you both will feel, but I rather had these fools take on the task than have more of my kin come to slay by the evil creature's hands. So let this be a test to see if they can complete it along with keeping their lives that is." The chief Borgare said.
That is when the advisor and the wife get an understanding of those words. What loss is there for them when these fools are offering their lives for a few coins? They can always get back the money if they come to be victims like those already.
"Have the first half of the gold ready and given to them to get started on their job," Borgare ordered that man.
"Yes, I will have it taken care of." The advisor answered, leaving his chief side to just do that.
Borgare then stood up from his seat about to speak to the people."On that subject dealt with we have another being that of the two victims who were killed by this demon they will need to have the proper fell well to Valhalla, so they may have a seat with the gods."
The chief looks to Lorthr." Lorthr since the boy is at your home, you must bring him here so that the young lad can say goodbye to his mother and father."
"Yes, he will be here to see their send-off."

[Lorthr and Halla farm]
The young girl Grima took the trip to arrive at the farm, walking up to the house after finishing the shopping and bringing those items back to her home before coming here.
Taking just seconds to reach and knock on the door.
"I hope that Throkell will be home right about now. I would like for him to come over for dinner that I plan to make." Grima thought.
The door opens as someone familiar shows themselves at the front."Oh, Grima, how good it is to see you, but what exactly brought you to our home at this time."
"Hello Halla, I hope this isn't bad timing, but I came over to see if Thorkell is home," Grima said.
"Sorry to say, but that boy isn't home right now. He seems to have stepped out somewhere that we don't know, have you not seen a girl." Halla asks, thinking that she would have some news of her son.
"No, I have not even been at the settlement when I was at the market Buying things," Grima said, sounding disappointed about this.
Halla notices that sort of tone and tells that the girl wanted Thorkell to be home for some reason.
"Was there something you wanted from him?"
"Oh, it's nothing that I wanted from Thorkell only just to see if he would be interested to come over to our home for dinner that I plan to make today. Yet it seems I was too late to ask." Grima says.
"Aw, you are quite the cute girl, I do pray that the two of you will be together, I would love more than anything to see such a day when both are married." It seems the woman is more welcoming of this or always wanted to happen.
"What!?.... I mean that is something I wouldn't mind happening between us, but it won't be easy if you can understand the reaction people here will have." Grima said that it is always the problem more so than her father being one.
Halla understood what the girl meant by that since Thorkell is not one of them being someone of another race who was just raised by their family.
"Listen Grima to the advice I'm going to give you here," Halla said.
"Yes, Halla, I would love to hear what advice you're going to give me." Grima was happy to hear what wisdom this woman is going to offer.
"Fuck those that got something against you and Thorkell getting together."
