Xalroz was surprised by this watching as the chieftain's son threw the pebble across the river for a short time, sinking
halfway."
"And why would you do that? I'm an outsider pretty much to the people."
"That's exactly it, you're an outsider's element that can be used against those who will not believe that someone as you rose among us northern Vikings you can say."
"I see what you are getting at here."
Xalroz walks up to the river standing a few inches away from the chieftain's son picking up a pebble as well yet to throw it just like him.
"I can see what you're planning, you want to use it for your benefit."
"I was thinking about using that here in the north and out on the main. You see I have a ride preparing and the boat I have ordered from our carpenter will be ready."
"Just one boat why."
Xalroz asked right as he threw the pebble finally that jumped across the rice better than it made it to the other side.
"Want to start small, don't want to bring too many at first. That no doubt is going to get caught by someone seeing boats like ours besides the number of men coming will be 60 including you if you agree to come along."
"So you're going to ride villages once landing on land."
"Not only the villages, a town as well get as many treasures to bring back to the settlement for the people."
Xalroz starts to see this person be an intelligent human, a rare gem among the species in an encounter. Yet he has to see how smart this one is, if higher than normal then that dangerous problem will be removed sooner than later.
"What do you say seems like a chance at earning a place here to get the people to see you as one of us instead of just an elf."
"Sounds like I should take it right away, but something doesn't sit well with me. Why are you doing this taking the time for us to come all the way here and have this talk? You're planning more than only this isn't you."
The chieftain's son laughed amazed at how well this elf can have insight into this conversation.
"Honesty I didn't think about you first when planning this, not walking when coming across hearing my sister talking to her servants about you. I don't know what you did, but you seem to have an impression on her since that girl couldn't stop talking about you or that interested to know the size of your manhood inside those pants. I didn't need to hear that part when listening."
"Well that can't be too good for me, your father or your mother won't be pleased about this. I'll be killed if it goes on like that by one of them."
"Yes, that would be unfortunate and not much of an issue as no one will miss you, only the family who took you in as a baby."
"Oh so now it is about protection. How quickly does that change when given a chance to earn my place?"
He shakes his head from that comment turning to face Xalroz.
"I'm not saying that to force you into my offer, just another addition to you joining in. No one will dare to touch you if you're with me and don't forget there also to calm that girl Grima if I remember. I'm sure that to be something you want with no one to object to."
"You're making it sound all too good, still there are more that have yet to come out spilling to me."
"Right getting there now, I don't want to only use you being an outsider on the mainland. Here in the North has gotten peaceful these passing years."
The chieftain's son picks up another pebble and tries again at throwing this one to see if he can out best Xalroz's throw.
It jumps a little better yet not nearly close to the one nearby. The chieftain's son had a small smile on his face rubbing through that red hair, the same as the sister.
"I want to start a war and bring it back."
"A war you say and why would you want to do that."
"Our settlement has been living too well getting soft, I see most of the people becoming too comfortable with the lifestyle. We do rides, but they are not that great of one's coming back with slaves and barely any wealth that is worthy to show. We are starting to lose how we used to be, I'm afraid that it will be lost forever."
Xalroz can detect from his tone how seriously worried he is about that issue.
"Yet to start a war here that is not going to be loved by the people. Most likely Your father won't approve of such a goal."
"The man is not going to in fact, I have a plan for my father to be the one setting the fire of war."
"And how exactly are you going to get that started?"
"Well by making it believable that our people were attacked by another Northern lord making a move on us as it will look to be they are seeking to take the land."
Starting a war will bring about chaos among the northern lords. An opening as this will give Xalroz to spread out far and wide in the north.``
"I have to ask if refusing to go along with this will happen to me."
"I have to kill you if you do so before coming here and talking this long. I can't leave it be that you know what I plan is too much of a risk."
"And what about these two you brought with you isn't your concern about those guys listening and reporting it to your father."
The chieftain's son turned back a little to look at those two northern men standing at their spot watching their two discussions going on.
"I do not need to worry about them being completely loyal to me. I mean how can they not when there is a chance they can become rich from working for me."
"Then you can make me another person to work for you as well."
"So you're joining Thorkell."
"Yes I am, this will no doubt be an exciting part to take in."
The chieftain's son offers a hand and Xalroz takes it as both have a firm handshake.
"Seems we became good friends from this day, now call me Valgard from now on."
