Chapter 12 - Ch 12: The missing slave Shana

Vigi the son of the blacksmith and good friend to Thorkell was welcoming to see the Drow elf again.

"Vigi my friend, happy as well to see you again."

Xalroz had to play the fake friend act as Vigi was walking over to him shitless, covered in black smoke powder and sweet together on his body.

He offers a hand and Xalroz takes it as the two end into a handshake till it is over soon.

"Vigi doesn't take long to talk with the elf, I still need you to work the forge, so you have five minutes and that's all."

The other person talking to him was the father working hard at the forge to create weapons that were ordered.

"Alright father heard you loud and clear, so anyway Thorkell what up."

"I won't take much of your time, my friend just wanted to know if it's possible to request a favor from you."

"Name it and I will see what I can do whatever that it is."

"Since your father is a blacksmith of this settlement, I wonder if there is a chance for me to gain a weapon."

Vigi starts to think about Xalroz's request as a response does come out of him.

"Are you asking for this because of yesterday with the demon you and Grima encountered? I have to say I'm glad your two lives didn't end in such a terrible way. Tell me what the creatures look like since I don't hear a lot about them from the people here."

"The demon we faced was a female no doubt, but kept the form of a human, so there was never a chance we were going to see the real one."

Xalroz tells him that it is the truth, but also a lie when he has knowledge of Sannoth's real body, but there was no way of that coming out of his mouth.

"I see that too bad, I was always curious about what the female demon looks like. If such a creature was beautiful, I wouldn't mind having a night with one given the chance."

"You're joking right."

"Hey I'm a simple man, what can I say, I may have a list of female species of other races. I would love to try getting in bed to see how it feels."

"Yes, that seems quite the goal for a northern woman to have what is wrong with the woman here in the north. They don't seem to be bad over here."

Vigi laughed at that comment for a short time then spoke again in a way to explain.

"I intend to one day marry a fine woman from these lands and have children until then why not have some fun with another race you know what I mean."

"That's such an interesting thing to say, I would like to join this discussion you two are having."

An unknown stranger entered their talk without permission and Vigi seemed to know who it could be, but Xalroz had to turn around to see the person's face.

A face he come to remember being the son of the chieftain someone showing up at the great hall yesterday at the trail again Xalroz which he win with complete victory.

Yet this person wasn't alone; he had two other northern men by his side, most likely to be his bodyguards or personal men that served only him alone.

"Ah, so it is the son of the chieftain what honor is it to have you at this forge what could we servants do for you."

Vigi's father was the one to greet the young man, stopping what he was working on, cleaning his hands with an already dirty cloth, and walking over.

"Nothing didn't have a reason for anything with you blacksmith, but the elf here."

"My and what someone of your status wants with me surely there is someone else important that is worth your time."

"I think whoever I want to talk to is worth the time, so what do you say, take a walk with me Thorkell as I would be pleased to have."

"Would it just be all that or is there more behind this invitation you are offering to me."

Vigi there didn't like this, but couldn't voice a word unless wanting trouble for him and his family. Only can stand and watch as his friend has this talk with the chieftain's son.

"I can understand your concern and can tell you I have no ill intention just wanting to talk only. You can refuse it if you want there will not be any hard feelings."

"Oh, and why would I pass up this chance for the two of us to be friends."

"Then I take it to be yes from you if you don't mind, I like it if we do so now unless there is still business here."

Xalroz looks back to Vigi wanting to know if what he asked can be done.

"So what I ask is, can you do it, Vigi."

"I can, but I have to discuss it with my father."

"What did he ask of you boy?"

"He wanted a weapon."

Vigi's father was informed about it and the man thought about it and soon gave his answer.

"It can be down, but you better have payment for the weapon."

"That won't be a problem, I will have the money to pay for whatever weapon you make for me."

"I don't think there is a need for that blacksmith to make the weapon for Thorkell and my father could pay for it."

The chieftain's son says as he looks at the blacksmith.

"Are you sure about that, I mean…."

"Just do it, man, don't question it, get it done soon alright."

"Yes, I'll work on it right away, come on boy."

Vigi sees that the time is up to get back to work as his father said.

"See you later Thorkell," he said, returning to the hot forge.

"That was kind of you to do, there will surely be repayment."

"You don't have to just accept this like a gift from a friend that I hope we become this day."

Xalroz wasn't a fool he understood this human is hiding something being this kind to him. He can see there will be a price, but what is the question to find that out is on this talk the two are going to have.

"Yes, I see us becoming good friends."

[Grima and Hjoy farm]

Laying in bed the young girl Grima was tossing and turning until opening her eyes when sitting up in hurry up in bed breathing hard like someone who was losing it in the first place.

After a minute or two, she was able to regain control, calming herself down and focusing to see where she could be.

"I'm in my room, how can that be?"

Grima tries to work that out in her head which has been played with by Sannoth placing fake memories to make it so that everything that happened last night was all true done by her will.

She moved herself to sit at the side of the bed not ready to leave it just yet.

"Right yesterday was such a crazy day. Father was wrong for what he did. Hopefully, the man will learn something from it."

At that moment Grima hears the sound of footsteps getting closer to the door of her room and the sound of knocking is now heard.

"Daughter are you up"

"I am father, you can come in."

HJoy opens the door once permitted to enter his daughter's room to see her sitting on the side of her bed looking not good.

"Are you alright, you look unwell?"

"No, I'm fine, nothing to worry about."

"I'm your father of course. I will always worry even more now about what happened the other day. I still can't believe you came close to death by a demon, I'm happy that it didn't happen."

"And yet you cause problems for Thorkell making untrue calms about him raping me where there no chance he would ever do that to me."

Grima says getting up from the bed soon to lose balance and falling back down onto it the girl's father came to her side getting worried.

"Look you need more rest, let 's not have this talk now, just lay back into bed until you're fully well."

"How can I know for sure you won't try to ignore the topic when I bring it up next time."

"You have my word daughter, by the gods, we will discuss it when the time is right."

Joy swears it, but she doesn't feel that convinced of his words yet Grima was tired and not strong enough to deal with it at this time.

Her father helped her get back into bed and when done he spoke again to her.

"I'll make sure one of the other slaves brings you food later as it seems Shana is nowhere to be found at our farm."

"What do you mean father?"

"She is a missing girl, the other slaves have no idea where she could have gone or they are hiding it from me."

"You think she ran away."

"Not sure it's hard to tell, being that won't be like her to do as we've been treating her well at our farm."

Grima finds this weird as well being that it makes no sense for Shana that slave to leave the farm when knowing what the person's secret is yet for her father to hear about.

"Well, it's not important for you to just focus on getting some sleep."

HJoy kisses his daughter's forehead then walks back to the door of the room leaving the girl to be alone.

"Shana, I hope you haven't done anything foolish."

[Distances northeast]

"So I don't mean to sound rude here, but is this really a talk or just to get far away, so your men can beat me to death."

At the river area, a spot that seems to be known to the son of the chieftain laughs at what Xalroz said. The men with him didn't share in it, just stood in place by his sides as he was sitting on a rock deep into the ground.

"As I said before, that is not my reason. If so, I wouldn't have wasted the time coming here to this river with you. I just had a few men attack and kill you during the night when no one will notice until later."

"That seems like a smart move to make, so come on then let's not dance around each other how about you get to the point of us being here."

Xalroz didn't get an answer from him watching as he got up from the rock walking way to the river. It was where he grabbed a small pebble holding it in hand for a moment when finally speaking.

"I wish to offer you an opponent to make a name for yourself among the people here."
