The remaining five islets now had five bipedal plants standing on top of them.
One of them had a familiar set of scythes for arms, but the other ones were different. There was one that had sabers for arms. Another that had axes at the end of its arms. One that had mallets at the end of their arms. And one that had arms that came down to a point.
One could argue that they had spears for arms, though Mikhail would argue that it had rapiers for arms.
The room was cast in silence as the two slugs dissipated, the parasites within having already perished at that point.
That tense standoff lasted for a short time, before a far point in the green lake began glowing intensely. Waves rippled outwards as something rose to the surface…
And then, a vibrantly glowing green Elemental Core broke the surface of the dim pool. Almost immediately, all color was drained from that pool, and it molded over before turning solid.
