Swiftly dodging a piercing blast of water that shot out from the lake in the center of the cavern, Mikhail quickly put that strange distortion in the back of his mind. It was doubtful that the dragon had done that, considering all the chaos surrounding it.
So, in the most likely scenario, that strange distortion had been Azalea. She had probably snuck past the chaos, went into the strange nest, and gotten her goal.
This made Mikhail want to check the nest, having briefly caught a glimpse of the single dragon egg in it earlier, but thought better than to do that. Drawing attention to a potential lack of an egg could prove detrimental.
Letting the dragon think it was in control of the situation was the best for the time being.
Facing its wrath… Well, he wasn't confident in getting out of that scenario in a fighting fit condition.
