"SURPRISE!" Mikhail shouted as he kicked the wooden door open.
"AH!"
BONK.
Mikhail narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips as a hardcover book bounced off his face.
"...Nice reflexes," he said, catching the book before it could fall to the ground.
"Wha-... Mikhail? What are you doing here? I thought-"
"Atticus helped me out. What about you? I saw your family leave before coming in."
Mikhail looked around as he spoke, taking in both Azalea's sense of interior design and the subtly sweet scent, reminiscent of Kennepas.
The walls on either side of her long room were actually stone bookshelves, filled to the brim with books. Her bed was on the opposite wall to the door, at the center of the room, and it was a standard wooden one, with the typical water bed.
And above the bed was a long stone shelf that extruded outwards from the wall. And on that shelf were seventeen different beast statues that Angelo had made.
