Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Important Information

Pushing open the pod, I got out and stretched. My body sent a dopamine rush to my head as I felt a crack in my back from laying still for a while, followed by my head feeling light from the sudden burst of movement. I groaned out loud and stood still momentarily as my body righted itself.

I got out and turned on my computer as I moved toward the kitchen and turned on the oven. I was going to eat some frozen foods and pulled out some chicken strips and a thing of fries. My stomach growled, and I put out a cookie sheet.

The oven heated quickly, and by the time I set things up, I was placing the food in the oven before setting the timer and walking back to my computer. First things first were to check the stats for today's voting, and it was higher than normal. I looked up my name and found that a big streamer was looking into things that their audience sent them, and my sleeping for the stream was something that gathered a bit of an audience. It was a little controversial or something, but it advertised me well, and the shape of my body on steam seemed to bring some of his viewers in. Seemed that the streamer himself made a joke of paying to vote and picked out the risque lingerie for my night stream.

Now that was my top-voted outfit, and it was a latex baby doll lingerie that almost would give you a view. What they didn't know was that I had this one custom ordered so that it wouldn't ride up while I slept at night. They would never see anything with it, and I paid top dollar for it. Now it was going to pay off as this stream alone would pay for that outfit with a little profit.

My closet was massive, and it cost me easily in the thirty thousand mark, and that was still a lowball guess. Probably somewhere in the range of fifty thousand. I loved my outfit collection for sleep, even if I had to let perverts watch me sleep in it every night. Honestly, I didn't have men or women over to see these outfits, so it was kind of nice that they were being viewed by the stream.

I pulled myself out of my analytics and moved on to research. I didn't have much time, and I wouldn't waste it looking at views. My paycheck was guaranteed, and I needed to move on. Hopefully, with this latest luck, I could pay for next month's rent too and food. Either way, I moved on to my research.

I started to look into major forums and their top posts and found something important that made me smile. The post was marked as an important post, and I began to read it.

"DO NOT LEAVE THE TUTORIAL EARLY!" That was the headline.

"Hello, readers,

I have looked into related things, and I reached the main game only to delete that character. I found out a couple of things. First, The way to exit the tutorial is through death which is a failure, and you lose that character or through the contract. Those are the only two ways I have found. In my first contract, I was in the military, and it was extremely easy to break the contract. Do something stupid, and they will break the contract, and you will go into the game with a Trait called Dishonorable discharge. These traits can be good or bad depending on who you are talking to. A criminal will be happier to talk to you, while Military personnel will look at you with disdain. That leads me to the next thing. Death, You can die in the main game, and you will not lose your character. It seems if you die, you will lose something off of your body and revive at a location you have visited. I recreated my character before finding out how it completely works.

The next main thing is that the Tutorial universe exists atop the Main universe like an instance. We can be in the same place as another person, but we cannot interact until we reach the main universe. After further thought, I believe this is the reason for the Character creation limit. You can go over three, but they will no longer convince you with the time dilation. When I made my second Character, the system warned me about the time dilation. The next character I make will only have the speed doubled instead of Quaddurpled, and the Character menu will become 'easier' and limit your choices. It seems that Gabin Corporation really wants to hammer home how much the tutorial costs them in resources, and I can see it. The amount of server power to have millions of instances moving at the same time with few in the main world must be enormous. I wonder how they are pulling it off.

As I restarted my Second Tutorial, I noticed some differences in my second go around. First, I chose a different profession and class. This was the class that I wanted to be in initially, and I found that things were much different. I was no longer part of the military and in more of a paramilitary operation with a completely different contract. So everyone has to deal with these contracts, and I found a lot of the language of these contracts are vague. So be careful when in the tutorial but try to stay in it and earn what you can.

Wrapping up, though, The Tutorial is a PVE area that works much differently than the Main universe, and I feel that it is a much easier place to survive than the Main universe. Make sure you follow orders and stay in your contracts as long as you can. Everything you get in the Tutorial you get to keep in the Main universe. If you get a spaceship, you probably get to keep that. The main universe is much harsher!"

It was a post that made me nod and solidified some opinions of mine. My timer went off, and I started to think as I went to go flip my things in the oven as I thought. I was happy knowing that Traits had something going on, but no one knew what it was exactly. No one seemed to know, or if they did, they were not talking about it.

I quickly flipped things and put them back in the oven before turning on the timer and heading back to the computer. I started to look through things again and began to wonder what was going on in other people's tutorials. Some people were talking about basic training when someone posted something that grabbed my attention,

"Traits I have unlocked and how I did it!

Hey Guys!

I will be posting the traits that I have found and how to get and put them up here. So subscribe and help me make some money off this information!

Well aimed- Take thirty seconds, and when I shot the person at a vital point, I got this trait!

Locked and loaded- Before doing anything else in the tutorial, arm yourself with every gun you own at that moment!

Sniper- Honestly, I just shot a sniper rifle, and I got this trait. No idea why it was so easy to get.

Grassroots - I completed a quest helping a union. I am not sure if there are other ways to get this.

These are all I know for now! Come back tomorrow, and I will have any I earn uploaded!"

I quickly hit the subscribe button on this person's posts and made sure I was notified of their posts. If I could grab a couple of traits that seemed useful from their information leaks, then I would get them myself. The person clearly wanted to profit and gain clout this way, but I felt that this was a temporary fame that would die quickly.

Still, I would take advantage of it while the person was posting it. They also posted some things I already knew, so I was more inclined to believe them. I heard the timer go off behind me, and I turned and got up, plating the food, and grabbed something to dip in. I moved back to the computer while munching to see if there was any new information. Some people were talking about their tutorials and how little of the information was considered true. Those that left the tutorials early were already making new characters and that meant little information on the main universe.

I saw that Gabin Corporation was trying to keep the Main universe free of players till we learned more in the tutorial. There was also a lack of stats I noticed, which was odd. How would things scale if there weren't stats of some kind? Were there going to be damage values? How were enemies supposed to scale?

So many questions with no answers to them, and I couldn't help but feel excited to learn some of them. I continued to eat and look into things but didn't really find anything that I was looking for. A lot of mixed information, and I thought some people were trying to put out false information as well. I got a call but noticed it was from my mother and hit the silent button. I didn't need to deal with her today, and I didn't want to deal with her today.

Instead, I finished eating, got up, cleaned up a little, and ensured the oven was off. After putting some things in the dishwasher, I returned to the pod and looked at my remaining time. I had a little left and decided to go to the bathroom, just in case. Ten minutes later, I was getting into the pod with an excited expression.

What was going to happen with the shipment? I felt like that would go fine, but the bounty hunter would be different. Either way I was looking forward to doing more than just bodyguard duty this time when I logged in. As I laid back and the lid closed, I found new eyes opening up in the universe of Galaxy online. My body was pressed against Ura's as we both had been sleeping.

I thought about doing things to her but stopped myself. Instead, I slowly crawled out from the blankets as I knew the time for the delivery was coming up. I got up and decided to start cooking a simple meal for after her nap and grabbed my tablet to see if there were any sightings of my mark. I cooked while looking through the intel and came up with the same things.

He was a heavy research fanatic. He was originally criminally charged because of that, and he continued to research. I bet his protection being revoked was also from research. I wondered if there were research labs on the Two-bit Space station. I started to look into it and found a research area not far from the slaver company, known for being discreet. It would keep the information out about the clientele. I decided my first place to look quickly. There was nothing wrong with taking a look and seeing if he was around there. I would check out some of the food establishments nearby and see if anyone had seen him. Seemed that asking slaves would be better than asking pirates as well.

I finished cooking and plated the food before getting up and waking up Ura, who groaned but got up with a pout. It seemed that Ura was hoping for a better wake-up, and I let my eyes narrow as I thought about what I would do to her later. Still, now wasn't the time, and I got up after finishing my food. "Getting ready for the delivery, then I plan to see what I can hunt down," I informed Ura, who nodded, getting up and cleaning up as I left to start getting ready.

It was time to deliver the goods.
