Chapter 7 - Push

I quickly laid down just outside of the camp, where I had everything set up. I took one of the benches that the guy I captured had and set up shop just behind it. I had no idea if it would be a good cover and didn't want to try it. I was out of sight with a large distraction in place in the camp. The man that they had intended to meet was tied up, still unable to speak or move, just at the edge of the vision. I personally couldn't care less if he died in the following exchange, but I needed the distraction despite the credits I might lose if he died.

I heard their footsteps, and one of the guys yelled at the other in English, which was a relief. "Whoever ambushed us must be ahead." One of the six-limbed creatures said, "Move forward and make sure whatever that light isn't a trap."

"Yes, Boss," the other one said, almost sounding the same with a slightly higher pitch. The steps were much slower, and I peaked above, and the man started moaning and moving to grab their attention. I could see him trying to warn them, but I could see that the first one didn't understand what it was he was trying to get across. "Boss, There is one person tied up again, struggling in his bindings. Might be the person who was selling us the data and got caught just as he messaged us." The creature said, stopping in place.

"Release him and see what he has to say. I will cover you," The boss said, and the six-limbed creature moved forward slowly. Just as whatever it was stepped into the thresh hold of light, he pulled a sting for the handgun trap, and I couldn't stop smiling.

BANG!

The handgun went off and hit him in the center of mass, and I had no idea if he would kill the guy. "FUCK!" The thing shouted, dropped his gun, covered his gunshot wound, and stepped back into the darkness. The boss reacted quickly and shot in the direction of the fun fire, sending ricochets all over the cave, and I ducked behind me, merely covered as he littered that spot of darkness with gunfire. Bullets whined, and my ears were flat against my head, muffling the sound of the gunfire.

Slowly I peeked my head up and listened as the boss reloaded his weapon, and I could no longer see his subordinate. "Fuck, You okay?" The boss asked.

I heard a cough, and I guessed that one of the ricochets must have hit his subordinate. I looked over to my captive, and I saw some blood coming from his leg, letting me know that he had been hit, and his whimpering helped emphasize that. I grinned as the boss seemingly ducked down, looking around, and I slightly rose onto my knees in the darkness. I could barely see the outline of their body, and I could be wrong, but I flattened my ears as my handgun rose up and all those years using iron scopes in games made me hope they were accurate. I found where I wanted to shoot, and my finger pulled down.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

I quickly squeezed again and again into the darkness, no longer willing to see as I shot in the direction I knew they were in. I heard something, but with my ears muffling the sound, I had no idea what. I continued to fire one bullet after another until my handgun was empty. I quickly strode forth and stepped over one of the backup claw traps I had set up in the camp. I pulled out my shotgun as I moved, knowing I only had a few shots remaining and I didn't have a second magazine for the handgun. I quickly looked down and saw that both the pirates were bleeding out.

I smirked and squatted down when I saw movement that the boss fellow picked up his gun to aim it at me. I quickly whipped my shotgun into what I believed to be his head and fired a shot blasting the head into chunks of meat. Blood splattered my body, and I frowned as the blood felt weird on my body. I quickly checked to see if his subordinate was dead and found his carcass filled with several light entries. I smiled, realizing my guess was correct, until I realized I hadn't received any notifications yet. I frowned and stood for a moment before going back to my pack and reloading my magazine. I started to walk down the cave patch and stepped over the large claw trap they failed to step on and the handgun trap they somehow avoided.

Pausing, I turned around and headed back up the cave stepping over the traps again and barely missing one of my traps as I almost tripped over one of the legs of a dead body. I quickly headed back up and laid down, checking the area with my sniper rifle. Quickly looking around, I found no additional enemies, and the blue woman was already dead on the ground. I waited no longer and quickly picked up the sniper rifle and strapped it along my back before heading back and repeating my show of dodging the traps and stepping over them.

My thoughts quickly spun as I hated when luck allowed people to avoid things they shouldn't have, but I knew my traps were not perfect. The only reason my first trap worked was that it was all-or-nothing. I was ready to ambush to kill them if he didn't fall for it. I quickly moved through the cave dodging the traps I knew were in the dark, and eventually came out into the desert. I saw my skimmer, and I frowned, looking at the spaceship that was still in position on the Rough landing pad.

I pulled out my shotgun and pistol and started walking into the desert, crossing over to the spaceship not too far away. Initially, I thought about putting a couple of claw traps in the sand, but putting them in the darkness was still a better idea. I looked around and noticed that the sun was starting to set, and that night was soon going to be coming in. I wouldn't be able to drive back to whatever base it was at night in the desert, and that meant that I would need to bunker down for the night. Still, I hadn't seen a single notification, and that was worrying me.

Stepping through the dunes, I quickly reached the rough landing pad, and I started to look up the ramp with my shotgun drawn close to me and my handgun out. If someone tried to ambush me, I would rather hurt myself with buckshot than die, so I slowly stepped up the ramp trying to be as quiet as possible. I slowly stepped toe to heel and made barely any noise on the ramp. My ears were twitching, listening for any sound as I slowly moved up the ramp.

I slowly crept up to the top and looked around as I went up the ramp. It was an open door at the top, and I held my breath as I reached the doorway. This was the riskiest part of this, but I had to enter at some point if I wanted the spaceship. I let my one hand enter and instantly felt a hand grab my wrist; my eyes recognized a blue hand gripping me and pulling me up and off balance. I stumbled forward, and the woman took my handgun from my hand and turned to point it at me.

Although I was off kilter a little, my shotgun stabbed into her gut, and my ears pressed against my head as my finger pressed the trigger and a blast of sound came out and blew a hole in them just as the shot and a spike of pain erupted from my arm as the handgun shot my arm that I was holding my shotgun with. "FUCK!" As the blue person fell, I cursed without thought and stumbled into the opposing bulkhead to stabilize myself. Pain shot up my arm, and I looked down at the head dude I had just punched a hole into. His grip on my handgun was released, and it lay beside him while a large hole was in his chest.

It must have been the lover or something of that woman I blasted a hole in earlier with the sniper rifle. I looked down at the dead man, kicked my handgun away, and looked around. It was a simple small hallway with a couple of lockers, and pain blurred my vision. Before doing anything else, I needed to look around and ensure the place was clear.

Pain laced up my arm as I moved around and checked the corners. I went into rooms with random things that I did not know what they were. I was hoping that I could find something to help me out while I was here to identify things inside the spaceship as I moved. Quickly I found what I roughly guessed to be a medical bay from some of the syringes inside the room, and I pushed into the room, hoping to find something to bandage the gunshot wound in my arm and something to sterilize it.

Pushing into the room, I heard groans, and I looked around with my shotgun forward. I walked deeper in, seeing what undoubtedly were beds, including an empty tank in a corner. I didn't know what that was for, but I ignored it when I found what I hoped to be a storage room. I pressed a big button, and suddenly the door opened.

I suddenly heard a cry of despair, and I looked inside to find a woman chained. She was a blue-skinned woman with large breasts and shades of purple all over her body in places that made her look beaten. She was chained to the wall, and I could see the despair on her face at first till it turned to hope.

"Are you a rescue party?" She asked, her tone hopeful, "Some of my crew turned Pirate. Can you help me?" She asked in tones of begging.

I had no idea if what she said was true, but it might help with taking this ship, so I turned around to look. "Give me a bit," I told her instead, "Need to clear the ship," My tone came out clipped and was slightly laced with pain as I didn't find the bandages I was looking for. I pressed the button, closing off a cry of despair that was only muffled.

I didn't care what she thought, as I needed to make sure of threats instead of increasing them. She was a potential hazard that could attack me while I was injured. I moved through the ship clearing rooms, and soon I sighed in relief as I couldn't find any more rooms to check. I contemplated where I should bandage myself up and decided that with two captives, I should collect them and put them in the same area at least. The spaceship might not be the best place, but in that closet, there were more restraints than what the woman had on her.

I moved back into the camp, leaving the spaceship, and I moved through the desert and back into the cave. I made sure to step over the traps again, which I would dismantle once I grabbed some tweezers and bandages.

Getting to camp didn't take long, and the guy was groaning on the floor where I had left him. Blood flowed from his body slowly, and I needed to bandage him at least. I quickly worked on myself first and screamed out a loud, "FUCK!" as the medical alcohol burned in my wounds as dug the bullet out that didn't go through. After a couple of minutes and me screaming many profanities, I pulled the bullet out and bandaged myself.

I quickly wrapped it up, went over to my one captive, and bandaged him up before working on the traps to make sure I didn't hit them. I gathered the guns and noticed a notification button that I didn't notice before in my vision in the corner. I mentally clicked it and received several notifications.

I looked at the traits, and I smiled that I got so many. I picked up the rifles those guys shot and looked at them.

Tepid Arms Manufacturing Rifle Version 233

Better known as the TAM Rifle 233, it is a poor rifle used at the fringe by poor organizations and Pirates. The TAM organization hates that these rifles are still being used.

Uses 5mm Ammo.

I grabbed both and put them in a crate, along with a couple of magazines that I found on them. I put them away along with the traps that I dismantled and picked up my prisoner. It was time to see who that woman was and if I could use her. I smirked as I moved.

A spaceship of my own to start this game world with. I smirked and began walking down the cave toward the Space ship. Hopefully, whoever that busty blue woman was, she was useful.
