Eiden strode down the dimly lit hallway leading to his sister's quarters, where he was greeted by a familiar face. "Gary, good to see you again. Have you completed all the necessary arrangements for transferring under my command?" The memory of a sword narrowly missing his head made Gary shiver, and he stuttered out his reply. "Yes, my lord. Captain Arin and I have taken care of the paperwork, and I've moved all of my belongings to your residence. I'm ready to serve."
Eiden let out a heavy sigh. "You really don't see the gift I gave you earlier, do you? As cruel as it may seem, it allowed you to see what truly matters in life. I too have danced with the reaper, but now I have one clear goal in mind. And I want to help you see the world for what it truly is."
"What is that goal, and what do you mean by what the world trully is?" Gary asked, his fear temporarily forgotten.
Eiden's slight smile revealed nothing. "I cannot yet reveal my goal to you, but I will tell you this: the world is a game. A game with no rules, no objectives, and no constraints. Only a select few can understand this, and for them, the game becomes whatever they want it to be. Remember, nothing truly matters. At worst, the game ends, and you can start anew."
"Now, let us go meet my sister. We both need to acquire mastery over the blade."
