Avery's POV
I went to Anastasia's room to call her to come to the dining room for dinner.
"What about what we discussed?"She asked with a sullen face.
"I will talk to Liam about that later May be this night or tomorrow, I would have done that already but he was busy with kingdom stuff, let's go and eat. I'll like to spend sometime with you after dinner, what do you say?"I asked and she hugged me.
"I say yes and tomorrow, let's go hunting" She said.
"We'll be killing innocent animals"I said and she chuckled.
"Hypocrite, why don't you go vegan" She said and we went to the dining to see the three already there.
"Let's eat" Liam said and began to put some meat in my plate.
"Am thirsty, Avery" Liam whispered into my ears and I pointed at the water on the table.
"Drink that" I replied.
"I think blood will do" He said and I choked on the food I was eating.
"What is it that is making my queen choke on her food?"Xavier asked and I smiled.
"Nothing" I replied.
"Perhaps Liam must have said something dirty to those innocent ears of yours" He said and I shook my head.
"She's my wife" Liam said and Anastasia choked on her food.
"Are you okay?"I asked and she nodded.
"Enough drama, what was it you wanted to tell me earlier Avery?"Penelope asked me.
"Uhm..nothing. I don't remember wanting to tell you anything" I replied.
"So you came to my room to tell me nothing?"She asked with a frown.
"I didn't come to your room today, Penelope. Is it anything the matter?" I asked and she scoffed.
"I hate you and you know that. Don't make me hate you more, I detest liars and don't you ever think you can make me look stupid." She said
and I felt tears about to leave my eye but I held it in like I wasn't touched by her statement.
"My sister is anything but a liar, don't you ever call her that again" Anastasia said and I couldn't hold the tears anymore. I let it roll down my cheek.
Is Liam not going to do anything in my defence?
"And who are you?Knight in shining armour? Who was it that was trying to make her sister look like the bad guy some days ago"Penelope sneered at Anastasia
"I don't recall doing that" Anastasia said.
"Neither do I recall mentioning your name" Penelope replied her.
"Tomorrow, we're going to hunt" Liam said and Penelope shrugged while excitement twinkled in Anastasia's eyes. She's always wanted to go hunting.
I drank some water and left the table for my room. What is wrong with Penelope? I want to be her friend but why does she hate me so much? and Liam said nothing to defend me.
The door opened and Liam came in.
"You're aware I slept a lot today why didn't you tell that to Penelope when she was falsely accusing me" I said and he shrugged.
"Avery, let bygones be bygones" He replied and laid on the bed. Is that all he has me to say? because Penelope is involved?
"What's your relationship with Penelope?"I asked
"Secret lovers maybe" He replied with a smile and I left the room.
I was on my way to the garden when I overhead Penelope mentioning my name in her room so I began to eavesdrop.
"This isn't hallucination, that girl came to my room she knocked and asked for permission to enter but I declined her then she left. I didn't know she's such a terrible liar till few minutes ago" She said and the door suddenly opened for me to see Penelope glaring at me while Xavier stared at us.
"May I know why the queen is eavesdropping on my conversation?"She asked.
"Penelope, I didn't lie to you. I didn't come to your room neither....."

She shut the door on my face without hearing me out.
