Chapter 60 - Light at the end of the tunnel.

"Are you okay," Jasmine gave Ivy a hand.

"I'm okay," Ivy took her hand.

"What happened, ugh my back hurts," Tyson groaned, he touched his back where the pain was.

"We defeated it," She paused. "Well Xadia and Jake did," Jasmine replied.

"We wouldn't have done it without you," Xadia complimented.

"Who dealt the last blow," Tyson asked, he stood up.

"It's not dead, well maybe, it's back to its statue form, and Jake did," Xadia informed.

"Yeah, he had to be the one, the hero in everyone's story, also his fault, cause we ended up here because of him," Tyson teased.

"Cheer up, we wouldn't know that there's a near-human civilization on this planet," She darted her eyes to the temple and walls of the tunnel.

"Look at this tunnel", She continued "It was made for a special purpose, like a temple, but why would they put a guardian at the front, it might be a rendezvous point, if that's the case, there must be an exit at the end of the temple," Jasmine explained.

"We would have been through with it if Ivy got her spell right, you were very slow, like you were struggling to cast," Tyson turned to Ivy.

"I don't know what happen, it's like this place was restricting me from reciting the words, my emotions were high-strung, I couldn't concentrate on the spell, memories of the past kept coming," Ivy looked to the floor, she closed her eyes, and sniffed, Xadia saw with she did.

'She wiped a tear, memories of the past, whatever happened to her in the past, it must've been a lot to take in, memories of the past.......I miss you mom,' Xadia sighed.

"The guardian's been dealt with, we can go now," Jake said clenching and releasing his fingers, the feeling was different, his attacks were going to be different from now on. The energy from the statue was just like his, and with this new amount, his fighting skills would increase.

They all met Jake at the front of the elephant Haridwar entrance, they went through the entrance and they were met with a door that had a great length. Its dimension was thirty one point twelve meters relative to thirteen point forty seven meters, its height was six point twelve meters.

There was a circle hatch type of handle on the door, it looked like it would be rolled to open.

That's a big door," Tyson commented.

"It looks like we're going to be needing your strengths to open the door," Jasmine informed.

"Leave that to me, it's a piece of cake," Jake said, he moved towards the door, trusting on the power of the energy he just gained from the statue.

"Yeah, it's hero time," Tyson teased.

Jake touched the hatch and it lit up a golden color, he was dazed for a second, it felt like the energy he absorbed was required to open the hatch. He awoke from his daze and rolled the hatch with the strength in his arms, the valve stopped rolling, it was the end of its ability to revolve.

A series of lock sounds could be heard, the door glowed yellow and it soon slid open. Jake could sense an object running towards him, the room of the temple was dark, he couldn't tell what it was, the object began to glow yellow.

He squinted his eyes to see what it was. A human sized yellow wolf made out of energy was seen by him, it rushed at him. It opened it's mouth wide and consumed Jake, disappearing into nothing after it's bite. Jake was launched to the far end of the tunnel till he hit the wall.

"Jake!" Jasmine called.

Xadia and Tyson got into their stances, expecting another challenge. Tyson summoned his orbs and Xadia held his arms out, but nothing came, so what hit Jake?.

"I'm fine." Jake groaned as he got up from the ground. Jasmine soon reached Jake. She brought out her holowatch to scan for any sprains, strains, subluxations, fractures, and dislocations, but she could find anything, just the wholesome heat signatures coming from Jake's body.

"You're spiking hot," Jasmine noted.

"I'm fine, that's familiar to us mutants," Jake replied, he walked away from Jasmine, he soon joined the others.

"What happened to hero time, you gotta stop doing that, you're toying with your life," Tyson warned.

"He's right," Ivy added.

"Well that's the last of it." Jake replied, he smiled.

"I should stay at the front this time, well not really at the front just beside you guys I'm not that strong, infarred scanners would be good to avoid traps and abnormalities," She ran past Jake. Her holowatch was displaying a screen and they walked into the building. A collection of candles lit up at the first step.

Jake hadn't entered, he was struck at a daze. 'My siphon core, it's golden. 'He clenched his fist, 'It's the same energy I release when I throw my claw attacks, it disappeared when it hit me, did it change my core? Jake internally thought.'

"Are you coming?" Tyson woke Jake from his thoughts, he moved towards the group.

The touches mounted on the temples stone wall illuminated the circular chamber. It had a high domed ceiling adorned with intricate carvings and symbols.

At the heart of the chamber was a circular stone altar, weathered by the passage of time. The altar was covered with maps, parchments, and scrolls, each carefully detailing plans, strategies, and intelligence. The group couldn't read them, it was of symbol language they didn't understand, they began to scan the place.

Among the array of documents, a large map captured the attention of the group. It was a diagram of three planets, intricately illustrated with celestial bodies and cosmic pathways.

A diagram of Earth was distinguished by a bold marking, it stoods as the primary target.

"Is that Earth?" Tyson asked.

"It seems like so, I have a feeling, that spell book didn't just wound up on Earth, it might be related to this planet. The civilization here must have migrated to Earth a long time ago, and history books from earth are long gone," Jasmine said, she scanned the symbols on the ceiling, two beeps where heard. "We don't have any data on this type of symbols, maybe the locals didn't make it," Jasmine deduced.

Jake looked at the symbols on the ceiling and a series of images flashed between his eyes, he shook his head and they were all gone. It came in a certain way, like a memory of some sort, he was daydreaming, or maybe not.

"Over here, I found the exit," Ivy called.

The group followed Ivy pass back of a door with a wolf crest on it, it had the same hatch like the one they came through.

"I got it," Xadia moved towards the door. He began to roll the hatch but nothing revolved, it was as if the hatch wasn't made to revolve, but that was the problem it was made too, his strength just wasn't enough.

"My turn sneaks," Tyson said as he placed his two hands on the hatch, ready to roll away, the same scenario was made, the hatch wasn't budging.

"You sure this is the exit?" Tyson asked Ivy

"It has the same connections like the one at the entrance, it definitely is an exit," Jasmine replied, she could see the setup with her infarred holoscreen function.

Tyson moved back a bit and held out his arms, he then focused the force in his body to the hatch, hoping to move the hatch with his innate ability, the result was the same, it didn't budge. He summoned his orb and tried to roll the hatch with it's tentacle, but the result was the same.

"Hey Wolfie, you think you can do it again?" Tyson asked, pointing his thumb to the door while facing Jake.

"Sure," Jake replied.

Jake moved towards the hatch, and just like before it felt like the golden energy in his body was seeping into the hatch, he then began to roll the hatch and it was responding, he soon rolled to the end of the hatch's axis, the wolf crest lit up with golden energy and the door slid open, this time there was no invisible force throwing Jake away.

"How did you do that? We all tried so hard, but you rolled it effortlessly." Xadia asked.

"I don't know, it felt natural," Jake replied, another series of images flashed through his eyes.

"What did I tell you, he's the hero of our story, I guess he really earned it," Tyson grabbed Jake's shoulder "But I'm still gonna call you Wolfie, it really sticks," Tyson smirked.

"Fare enough," Jake replied with a smile, they walked out the door, the others soon followed.

A gentle glow materializes at the far end of the tunnel. At first it was a mere glimmer, subtle to the eyes of the group, but it grows brighter with every step forward, they reached the light at t the end of the tunnel.
