Lupin had transformed into a big grey wolf by now. There was a shock he could see in the eyes of Clara's apparition. He shouted: You tortured me when you were alive. You made me a killer. Now you are here to torment me again, kill me, drag my soul with you, staying with you was like hell, you want to drag my soul to hell and torment there too for eternity to come!
But he could not here his human voice. Rather he heard a long deep howl.
He felt courageous being a wolf. He ran after Clara's apparition. And it flew away from him. Away from the house.
His wounds had healed now. He was feeling agile. He preferred this form over his human form. He sat there on the floor. His nostrils flaring with anger over Clara and the trauma he had to endure because of her. He was just by killing his wife. He had done the right thing. He must have taken her life earlier. He must have been a fool to delay such a great action of killing a characterless woman.
When he found that Clara's apparition did not return for him, he rested his head on the floor and fell asleep.
