Lupin returned home. Silently. Nobody knew he had returned home. At least he thought that nobody knew about his return. That was good for him. He did not join the school as soon as he returned home. He homestayed for a couple of days.
The first night he returned home, he was very tired from traveling. So he decided to order food online and slept most of the day. In the first night he saw something white was lurking in the corner of the bedroom. He was startled. He used his mobile's flash light to see what or who was there. He could not discern anything. So he concluded that it was some optical illusion. Then he tried to ease off, tried to relax. But he heard a hiss. He opened his eyes and he felt he was petrified. He wanted to shout, but he could not. He wanted to kick the bed, but he could not move his body parts. He was looking into the eyes of his wife and his wife was suspended in the air just inches above him. He gasped, "Clara!"
Clara, his wife, who looked deep into his eyes. Clara's face was pale and bloodless. Her eyes did not flick. After a moment the vision vanished and he could move his body. He sat down on his bed. So, it was an apparition or a hallucination. If it was an apparition, then his wife was dead. Probably killed by himself when he turned a werewolf, he could vividly remember the dream when he was hit by a car, he turned into a wolf and went to a hotel room and killed a woman. If it was real, then it was not a dream, rather a memory. If what he witnessed moments earlier was just a hallucination, then it was ok - then there was still a chance that his wife was alive and he was not a werewolf and he was just missing his wife as a good husband should do. He wanted to witness the apparition once more, so then he would confirm what was it- whether an apparition or a hallucination.
