Chereads / THE TWINS' PET / Chapter 16 - Sad

Chapter 16 - Sad

The air felt so cold. Liffi turned her head to find the source of the voice that calls for Ace's name, her lover. The voice came from a girl. She was still wearing the cheerleaders' uniform, metallic blue, and covered with a brown coat over her knee.

Liffi was stunned, that girl took a boy's hand tenderly. And that guy was really Ace, her Ace? Her lover who just disappeared for over two years. Ace also looked happy when he took the beautiful girl's hand. A smile crossed his face, the girl made the same expression. They walked towards a cafe near the campus. Liffi could only be silent and stunned, a moment later Liffi tried to follow them slowly.

Liffi's heart beat so fast, a chill covered her neck. Her hands felt stiff and cold. Liffi kept hiding it in her coat pocket.

Liffi thought her heart will be ready when she met Ace. Liffi thought she had forgotten Ace. Liffi thought her heart would not hurt this much. But it turned out that everything seems to be the opposite. Liffi couldn't forget Ace. Her heart was very sore and without Liffi noticing, tears flowed down from the corner of her eyes.

Sadewa was looking for Liffi at that time. He opened the window and saw Liffi crying while following Ace. Sadewa got out of the car and chased after Liffi. His heart hurt to see Liffi's sadness.

"Ace!" called Liffi softly.

Ace turned back, and their eyes met. Liffi could no longer hold her feelings, tears flowed out along with the pain in her heart.

"Liffi?!" Ace's eyes widened. He let go of his holding hands and tried to approach Liffi. The girl beside him was also surprised but still chose to remain silent.

"I thought we're in a relationship??" Liffi shook her head in disbelief.

"I can explain, Liffi." Ace was getting closer. He wanted to touch Liffi.

Liffi was still crying, Sadewa suddenly hugged her and patted Ace's hand. Liffi sobbed in Sadewa's arm.

"Do not cry!"

"My heart so hurt, sir." Liffi could not stop her tears when she saw Sadewa.

"He doesn't deserve your tears." Sadewa looked at Liffi, wiping the tears with his thumbs.

"Liffi ...?!" Called Ace.

"Let's go, Liffi." Sadewa took Liffi's hand and asked her to turn behind him.

Liffi's heart still hurt so badly, Liffi stopped for a moment. She turned to look at Ace's face, which still looked astonished.

"I give it back." Liffi removed the ring from her ring finger and threw it right under Ace's feet.

"From today we have no relationship anymore." said Liffi.

"Liffi, wait !! Hear me first !!" Ace was about to chase Liffi, but Sadewa prevented him. Sadewa covered Liffi behind his sturdy body.

"Move over !!" Ace stared hatefully at Sadewa, his face full of anger.

"I think about how great my rival is. In fact, it was just a loser like you." Sadewa smiled as he tightened his embrace.

Ace's face looked angry and emotional, but he held it because he felt very guilty. Ace did not deny his mistakes, he went out with other women even though his status was still Liffi's boyfriend.

"Liffi, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you." Ace said.

"Can I punch him?" Sadewa asked Liffi.

"I just wanna go home, sir." Liffi hold Sadewa.

"Okay, I'll take you home, Liffi." Sadewa took Liffi's hand and go to his car. Liffi felt Sadewa's warm hand begin to calm her heart. He grinned at Ace, mocking him.

Ace clenched his fist ... seeing Liffi with Sadewa made him angry. Ace still loved Liffi very much, he was only disappointed because Liffi never contacted him while he was here. Ace thought Liffi never really loved him, never missed him, never looked for him, and has forgotten him.

"Shit!!" Ace kicked the trash can.

"Are you okay, Ace?" The girl approached Ace.

"Sorry, Ella. I shouldn't be like this." Ace smiled sourly at Ella.

"It's OK, Ace. I can help explain everything to the girl that we're not in a relationship. We're just friends." Ella sat beside Ace.

"Thanks." Ace smiled, Ella returned a sweet smile from Ace.

Sadewa looked closely at the young woman beside him. The woman was sobbing, her breath was heavy because she had been crying for a long time. Sadewa could only be silent in anger. He was angry with the boy who made Liffi cry. But also blaming himself for being helpless, he didn't even know how to comfort a woman who has just broken up.

"Em, do you want a drink?" Sadewa hesitated handed a bottle of mineral water to Liffi.

They were still sitting on the city park bench. A little dark because the street light was not too bright. Lonely .... Only a few people were still there. A good place to stay and overflowing her emotion.

"Thank you." Liffi wiped her tears and received a drink from Sadewa. She drank half of the water.

"Feeling better?"

"Yes, sir. Sorry you have to see me like this." Liffi adjusted her irregular breathing.

"Not a problem." Sadewa raised his hand, about to pat Liffi's shoulder. He hesitated, was this fair to do with a woman who is crying?

"Please excuse me, sir." Liffi got up, then bowed to say goodbye.

"Don't go!" Sadewa grabbed Liffi's wrist and pulled her. Liffi fell into Sadewa's arms. Her ear was right on Sadewa's left chest, heard Sadewa's heart beat faster.

Sadewa closed his eyes, enjoying the sweet fragrance of hibiscus flowers mixed with the freshness of grapefruit. Well, no different with Black, Sadewa also felt that his adrenaline was triggered by the pheromone that emerged from Liffi's body.

[So warmth, ] Liffi closed his eyes, for some reason she enjoyed Sadewa's warm embrace.

[ Can I be like this? Enjoy it for a moment? ] Liffi thought, telling herself that right now she was just being carried away. Expecting something from someone like Sadewa was a mistake.

"Liffi, accept my love." Sadewa hugged Liffi with his strong arms.

"Sir?"

"Don't call me Sir, Liffi, call me Sadewa, or Dewa." Sadewa smiled warmly, he hugged Liffi's body again, her body looked tiny against Sadewa's when they were side by side.

"I don't dare, sir."

"Sadewa !! Or Dewa is enough."

"Yes, De — Dewa." Liffi stammered, still not accustomed to calling the man in front of her just by a first name.

"Yes, Liffi, call my name." Sadewa brought his forehead closer to touch Liffi's forehead.

The sweet smell of hibiscus flowers tickled Sadewa's sense of smell. Sadewa felt his strength was too overflowing at this time. He had to channel it or he would subconsciously transform himself in front of Liffi.

"How?"

"What, sir?"

"Sadewa! Do not call me sir."

"What is it, De ... Dewa?"

"My love. Will you accept it?"

"Erm ... let me think about it." Liffi played with her finger, as if it had become her habit to play fingers when she was feeling confused and awkward.

"Sure. How many days do you need?"

"Huh ?? How many days? Doesn't getting to know each other usually take quite a long time?" Liffi scratched her head even though it wasn't itching.

"Oh, is that how humans relate to each other?" Sadewa nodded slightly in understanding.

"Yes, sir. Can't be in an instance." Liffi was a little confused in answering Sadewa's question. How come there was a human who doesn't know how to have a relationship? Sadewa himself never thought about this, because for werewolves, it was enough to meet a mate, then a love affair and intimate relationship could be done.

"Sadewa, Liffi! Sadewa."

"Y-Yes, Ss... Sadewa." Liffi looked very awkward, but didn't dare to refuse Sadewa's request.

"Good. I'll wait for your answer. We'll get to know each other first." Sadewa stroked Liffi's head. Both Sadewa and Liffi felt the same sense of comfort.

"Sunday, will you go out with me?" Sadewa took his courage to ask Liffi out during the lunar eclipse. The lunar eclipse only lasts for an hour or two. But the werewolf's strength will weaken for quite a while.

"O-okay."

"I'll tell you the place and time." A smile appeared again on his handsome face.

"Yes, Sir ... oh, I mean Sadewa." Liffi saw Sadewa's eyes, sometimes she felt they looked very sharp, but sometimes they looked very gentle. Did Sadewa ever show that gentle gaze to any other girl? For no reason, Liffi felt reluctant to share it with another person.

"Come on, I'll take you home." Sadewa took Liffi into his car.
