MIhael heard a lot of beeps and saw a lot of stuff flash before his eyes.
He couldn't feel his body, he couldn't feel his arms, but he could definitely move things with his mind.
Actually-
What was he moving? What was he even selecting? How'd he know what worked what way?
Perhaps it had something to do with intuition, or perhaps the design of the atmosphere he was in? He wasn't sure but it worked.
