Day two began in earnest.
Just as Mihael thought, only the strongest got into the final ten of group B, with him being among the top 3.
"It's starting-" Sarveisa said- from the sidelines.
The stadium was fairly big, and so was the ring, almost like a wrestling ring but much bigger.
"Not interested," Mihael shrugged.
Group A was first.
And their ten participants started off with a bang,
Flashy magic, flashy skills; really bright stuff.
Stuff Mihael hated.
Blatantly.
The audience though, loved the stuff.
Cheers were all over the place- some even shouting at the top of their lungs.
"Pitting everyone all at once would have been so much simpler and would have saved all of us precious time," Mihael said.
"And also would have bred chaos and unwanted injuries," Rose shrugged. "Besides, don't you want to find out if-"
"Not really."
"Hey, let me finish!"
"Meh."
He was not interested, no.
"Ah- Lord Blazer slashes through the air! Lord Garga dodges! Look- lady Zami- jumps how high!" They even hired a proper emcee and commentary team… "Oh, wow she's wearing stripes…" A faint mumble. They didn't sound very proper though….
The girl in question Zami, blushed midair, trying her best to keep her skirt down- falling flat on the ground like a fly. "Darn it!" And got up with a rapier in hand, still unharmed.
Mihael yawned. "Wake me up when you have to-" he gently leaned against Sarveisa and fell asleep.
"He really trusts you, huh?" Rose wondered.
"I'm not sure. But I do think he trusts me more than anyone present here…" A breath- "So, what do you think?"
The crowd cheered as they watched participants fall, get hurt, launch powerful attacks and such.
One by one- five participants dropped.
Since Heaven had a lack of entertainment, events like this, were really popular, and very… exciting.
"OF what?"
"Can you last in a ring with him?"
"Nope. Not a chance."
"How about the others?"
"I haven't seen Mihael go all out. But from what I've seen, he might have a bit of a hard time against some of them."
A faint smile. "Well, I won't say you're wrong. But-" A mocking shrug. "You're wrong."
Rose grumbled, rolled her eyes. "Hmph!"
"Argh!" Three participants were blasted out of the ring!
"And with that Gourp A's matches concluded! Winners are- Lady Zami and- lord Alor!!!"
"Those are rank 3 and 4, right?" Sarveisa asked.
"Yes. Both are from my class."
"But the rest-" Sarveisa stared to her left, at a group of eight.
The god participants.
Rose was the only one of the bunches who wasn't a god candidate. The rest- were god candidates, even Mihael was one.
Meanwhile, all other groups only had one or two of them and every one of them were probably going to be moving on to the finals.
After all-
They were the elite of the bunch- the most powerful-
The most promising.
"I don't understand one thing-" Rose paused. "How come he's so carefree? It's as though, nothing interests him anymore."
"I- would also like to know more on that… but for now, let's just say, he's been through a lot." Sarveisa cleared her throat. "Time to wake up-" She gave the boy a gentle shake-
He woke up- stared almost innocently for a second but then went back to normal.
Rose gulped- "Cute…"
Mihael glared but- "Here-" he said, throwing a small crab at her.
It fell softly on her hair. "Why? Isn't he yours-" She took the little thing in her hand.
"Frankly, I'm not interested in pets. Besides, you'll need him in there…"
Mihael went ahead-
"Oh?" Sarveisa smiled. "Would you look at that. He does care about his friends…" She snickered.
Rose's cheeks reddened a bit as she suffocated the small crab- "So darn cute…"

"Now- the match we've all been waiting for!!!' The emcee emphasized on various words for effect. "We have both Rank 1; Trerortra, and Rank 2; Ashirnae, god candidates and even rank 5, 6,7, 8, 11!!! And a high angel with the blessing of a Holy beast! And not just her- but- BUTTT!!! One boy, despite being so small, the boy who has clobbered everyone he has faces so far! MIHAEL ZABLLEEEEE!!!"
"It's Zable- you idiot-" Mihael spoke softly- yet, yet his words traveled to every single ear present in the academy.
Reverberating in everyone's minds.
Almost making the emcee clench his teeth. "Pardon…"
Mihael snorted, grinned, stared around. "Come at me like your life depends on it," he said.
"Begin!" The referee declared.
