Chapter 8 - Clash

Electricity streaked.

The shirtless god's lips curled, teeth showing. "Who is this runt?" He spoke, amused.

"My lord, he is but a child and…" And Sarveisa shut up seeing that glare. "He is Mihael Zable… only two years old."

"Two years?" Even more amused, he came closer to the boy-

And though Sarveisa spread her arms and wings, trying to protect the boy-

"You'd go against your own god?" Xorax said-

"Please, my lord… he is just-"

Slap!

He slapped her with a smile, throwing her away.

Sarveisa crashed into the wall- not getting up again…

Meanwhile, Mihael watched the whole thing, without even batting an eye, gaze dead center on the god.

"Now- How do I punish a small child without incinerating him?" he wondered aloud, perhaps to instill fear in the boy.

But no-

Mihael was emotionless.

He didn't show any pity for the angel, he didn't show any fear of the god, and he didn't even show any rage.

He just stood there-

Staring,

Xorax's smile ceased and he pointed a finger at the boy-

Electricity streaked-

Thunder!

With a roaring sparkle, thunder descended from above-

Yet, was dismissed by a wave from the boy little. And instead- "Darkness-" he said, pointing.

Light disappeared from the god's field of view, encasing him in a cold darkness.

But his divine aura glowed and thus rendered him an easy target.

Cluck!

Cluck!

"Argh-"

The light cleared- leaving the god heavy breathing and staring at the wounds on his chest.

And his divine fresh blood… alongside four ice spears.

Did he-

The god of Thunder-

Bleed?

Meanwhile-

The boy-

Still as nonchalant as ever. Just standing there- just staring.

"What the hell?" Xorax wondered- flicking his fingers once-

The wounds disappeared and waves of thunder descended-

Wham!

Enough to eradicate even the strongest of holy beasts- let alone just a lesser.

"ARrrr!!" Making the boy grunt-

And yet-

The boy didn't burn-

He didn't even cry.

He just glared….

Making the god take a step back by instinct…

Sweating-

'If I don't take this seriously-' Xorax thought-

'What is this?' Breath unstable, sweating-

Was… fear?

Him?

Of a mere child?

No! It couldn't be!

Not only was his pride on the line… something told him- his life too…

He was a god for crying out loud! The god of thunder! Third rank!

Xorax's opponent was a child but- it didn't matter anymore. He recognized the kid as an enemy- and he was going to exorcise him even if it meant-

"Please-" Sarveisa stood between the two- bleeding from the head, and a broken wing. "Let's not continue this…" she spoke to both of them. "He has a brilliant future. Let us believe in his potential and have hope for him, not dread… please find it in yourself Almighty Xorax, the supreme god of thunder, to forgive his insolence… just this once… please!"

The god stood there- not quite able to make sense of the situation.

A lot of things went through his head- as he stared around-

The other angels-

Some of them also pleading alongside Sarveisa.

Some, even on the ground- pleading for this angel-

For mercy-

Not just his pride… his reputation as well…

Eventually- "Just this once-" and he flew off. "The four supreme Gods aren't so easy for you to best- so keep your expectations level."

"What a co-"

Sarveisa grabbed the boy's mouth- shutting it with her hand. "Shhh!" Heavy breaths, yet- relieved…

It was that time when the angel realized, the boy she'd brought didn't have even a shred of fear-

And it was also when she realized-

Yeah-

She might have screwed herself instead of investing in the future…
