Anger, despair, and shock–these emotions assaulted Eltic's mind as he stepped toward the body ahead. He was visibly shaking as his legs traveled to the spot. His mind worked on auto. It was in his control, yet not. All he could control were the thoughts: "Please be alive."
He blamed himself for this. Why did he think this was a good idea? Bringing a child to this kind of mission, a child to this godforsaken place filled with these… things.
And what possessed him to go touch the damn object?
So many mistakes all in the span of a few seconds, and half of them were his.
"Just please be ok," Eltic prayed as he finally got to Alistair's side. Now he couldn't help but notice how roughed up Alistair had been since he brought him.
