"No."
"Come on. You promised."
"Noah you're asking me to go on a date with your sister." He pointed out the obvious, causing Noah to roll his eyes.
"It's just one date, Steven."
"Your sister is like the combination of Harley Quinn and the teletubbies all in one person."
"Those two don't even go together. What are you even... "
"Exactly. And you they're all in one person. Your sister is fucked up."
"Hey." He sounded offended but Steven couldn't care less.
"You can ask for anything else, but to spend an hour with your sister at some restaurant eating fancy food and being forced to make awkward conversations with her, no. That's not going to happen."
"You promised." Noah stated again.
"I'm surprised you think someone like me can't break promises." Suddenly he honked and the sound of a car horn echoed through the speakers and outside his home. "I'm here."
"I'll get the door!!!" He heard the sounds of shoes landing hard on the stairs as Natasha yelled.
"Steven please. It can be tomorrow or next week. Just promise her you're going to take her on a date and you actually have to do It."
"I'm in the car and your sister is at the entrance of the house waving at me with that creepy smile on her face. If she so much as throws herself at me, I'll... "
Noah suddenly threw the phone aside and sprinted down the halls, down the stairs and ran out the door to be with his sister Incase Steven attempts to murder her as he threatened.
Natasha rolled her eyes when Noah suddenly stood behind her, wondering why he wasn't smart enough to know she had wanted to welcome Steven in all alone.
However, she didn't have time to get angry as she felt her heart swell, her gut tightening as Steven walked up to them, his signature blank expression enticing her more than ever, making her imagine all the things she could use that firmly shut mouth to do.
The moment he stood In front of her, her heart flipped, and for a second, she lost her composure as her smile faltered.
"Natasha." He calmly greeted, seeing the warning, pleading look on Noah's face from behind.
"Hey Steven." her voice was drawled and seductive before she finally approached him, slowly shortening the distance between them.
Steven turned rigid and his eyes twitched, but she didn't seem to notice because she badly wanted him to notice her, and finally got it when his eyes slowly trailed over her before travelling back up her eyes.
"Move." He suddenly said in that cold voice of his, and Noah didn't need any soothsayer to tell him what to do as he pulled Natasha back in when she didn't budge from her spot due to shock.
Once she was out of his way, Steven walked in and Noah sighed when Natasha pulled her arm from him grip and began trailing after Steven into the living room.
However, when he stopped In his tracks and turned towards her, she froze in her steps on meeting his dead cold eyes. It was like blue icicles were growing in them.
"I'll get you some juice in the fridge." She quickly said and walked away, berating herself for always succumbing to the fear he instilled in her rather than just facing it and telling him how she felt.
Noah finally let out a breath as Steven sat down without a word. He sat down on the other side.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?"
"I finally got the job and infiltrated the company." Steven said, leaning back into the couch leisurely.
"Oh, that was easy? You didn't suspect that she might have something up her sleeves for willingly agreeing to give you a job there knowing you're posing a threat."
"Yeah. I'm pretty sure she didn't even bother hiding it. She made me her body guard and we had to sign a contract with all these ridiculous rules about not being armed around her and shit like that."
"You're kidding." Noah was in disbelief. That woman was as cruel as they all say, and evil as well.
At that moment, Natasha walked in with a glass of juice on a tray which she happily set up right in front of Steven before plopping the glass down, revealing that there were different arrays of snacks on the tray as well.
"I made the banana bread and red velvet cake all by myself. The pretzel is store bought though, but I can make that too."
Steven saw Noah giving him a look which instigated that he shouldn't hurt her with his words or scare her again.
"I didn't know you could bake. That's Impressive." Steven said drily, forcing himself to actually look like he was impressed, but his eyes still looked lifeless.
Noah smiled softly as Natasha beamed, looking proud of herself, and when Steven saw how he looked at her, he suddenly sighed inwardly, knowing he had to agree to Noah's request.
"They go really well with the juice too." Natasha added.
"Um... Natasha?" Steven glanced up to see her staring intensely at him with her huge eyes. Jesus Christ.
"Yes?"
Steven swallowed. I'm going to kill you for this Noah.
"I'll be gone for a business meeting for a few days, but when I return, I would like us to go on a date. Do you... "
"Yes."
Both men were stunned at how fast she was to reply. Natasha was shaking in excitement already.
"Okay." Steven said, and Noah glared at him. Why did he have to act like he was programmed sometimes. Okay??
Natasha bit her lower lip, and while holding the empty tray tightly in her grip, she quickly leaned down and pecked Steven on the cheek.
Noah stuffed his fist in his mouth seeing Steven's eyes darken, but Natasha didn't notice this as she straightened and glanced down shyly.
"I'll wait for you." With that, she winked at Noah and stuck her tongue out at him before running in.
"I hope you're happy now." Steven said as he raised a brow at Noah who pursed his lips to hold back a chuckle seeing his sister's lip stick imprinted on his cheek.
Seeing where his eyes was fixed, Steven reached up and rubbed the spot, cursing on seeing the red lipstick stain on his fingers before he finally wiped them clean.
"You said you were going on a business meeting?" Noah turned serious as he asked.
"Yes. She said she was attending her sister-in-law's wedding and as her body guard who's supposed to be with her 24/7, she obviously wants me to go with her."
"Sister-in-law? Steven do you even realize what I just figured out now. That means she is your aunt... she was your father's sister."
"So?"
Noah just sighed and waved his hand, letting the topic go to rest. He would understand better If he got there.
"So what did you need me for exactly when you could have told me this over the phone?"
"For the meantime, I want you to let my sister mum live here until I'm back."
"Really? Sure we have enough rooms. They can stay here. Natasha won't mind even... "
Suddenly, there was a scream In the kitchen, and Noah went dashing off in the direction of the kitchen while Steven took a banana bread and bit into it before drinking the juice.
"Mm. It does go well with the juice."
