Chapter 42 - Better Way To Control A Piece

[Why am I even writing this in the first place? Well, so that, whoever had found this might somehow change their perception and listen to me. Leaving a diary is common for some world who will face the destruction of the monsters from the vortex.

[I once stumbled on a diary from the portals, saying I had to watch out for the monsters of the vortex but it was already years ago. I regret that I didn't listen to it. Heck, to the person reading this, whether you are from a different world or a nonbeliever in this kind of thing, then please do read.

[But if you're curious as to what I'm about to say, keep this in mind. Acquire the grayish parasites you could get since they hold potential powers much more so than what you've imagined. They are the apex, the pinnacle of every parasite, and of course, there are a lot of them.

[My name is Morph and you can say, this is my diary. My knowledge that I will be transferring to you is something you had to understand. If you don't believe me… please rethink it twice. I want you to believe me.]

'Monsters of the vortex… parasites… portals… Isn't this just the same as Anomalies, Piece, and Ruins? No, by reading the introduction of the book, I could pretty much deduce that Earth and this world are not the only ones experiencing Anomalies…

'Wait, does that mean there are also other worlds aside from these three? Holy… senior also mentioned at our meeting that he knows some worlds… Wait, how did Noelle view 'some' though? Does that mean… there's a lot? Shit, I can also deduce now that this isn't some mirror or another world of Earth.'

With a lot going through my mind, I rubbed my temples, and moved on to the next pages of the book, looking at what seemed to be a very important piece of information I would read.

I didn't notice Isaac coming right beside me, also began reading the texts of the book since I was too engrossed in the information it was giving to me.

[…I became the king of all the joined forces of my group. They nominated me all to become one since I appeared very calm and reliable on this matter when in fact, without the information regarding the monsters of the vortex, I wouldn't be here standing. I guess that's a cheat code I have and I was the main character like in those stories I've read…

[…Monsters of the vortex. There are other ways to defeat them but statistically, parasites are much more proficient in hunting these monsters down. Yet, at the same time, it produces great risks. Thankfully, the method for better controlling a parasite was given to me by the diary I've read about!

[In my world, it said that to control a parasite, one must consume or control it. On others, the better way is to eat them and began consuming or controlling them but there was such a simple thing we always forgot about. To reduce the risks of losing control of the parasites, what does one need to do?

[Simple, it's the compatibility. It's a compatibility between the user and the parasite itself.]

[To understand better, I'll give an example. It's better to consult the Gifted since their father's or mother's powers had been passed through them and they have certain power on knowing what kind of parasite you hold.]

'Compatibility…? And Gifted…? Is that what they call Artisans? They are much more than that…? I thought they were just good at making Piecework…'

First time seeing this kind of information which is different from my knowledge, I casually sit down on the floor and continued reading the preceding texts.

[Here's an example. If your parasite is hearing-oriented powers, then you must always use your hearing every time whether or not you are using your parasite. The parasite mustn't be the one who will adjust to you, it must be the person. That's the reason why some people lost control because they did it another way around.

[Remember, this is not acting like the parasite nor becoming one with it which is one of the reasons for losing control, it's becoming compatible with it. I've seen countless people becoming parasites themselves and if there aren't executed, it would cause disaster for us.

[Now, if you are experiencing the same thing as me since the previous diary I've read had the same experience, and even though it didn't tell me to do it, let's just say this is me having goodwill.

[I want you to tell this to your world. Don't be selfish and spread this to the world. You should arm yourself when The Monsters Of The Vortex came. I'm begging you, whether it started there already or nothing is seemed to be happening at all, it would be good to spread this info to your world.]

'It's the person who should adjust to the Piece and not the Piece itself. Therefore to achieve Compatibility, this method must be followed. Heh, isn't this just a diamond I found? I could earn millions if I put my mind to it! It's really a hidden treasure!'

Already counting the gold I would acquire inside my head but instantly realizing gold wouldn't go me anything after a year, my face turned solemn, and close the book and decided I would stop reading it for today.

'Well, I can still use that money to improve certain things...' Musing that thought inwardly, I looked at the book.

It wasn't even near a quarter of the book contexts and reading everything that was stored in here would only waste a lot of time.

I was planning on ending the reading when I head to my next destination. In that way, the moment my business is done there, I would have a lot of time to explore this place when I go back.

As I was about to stand up from my place, Isaac, who was on my side, suddenly spoke, "We should tell this information to the other people, Noelle."

"I was planning on doing so."

"I see. Well, I can spread the information once we got out of here, just tell me when."

"Sure,"

Silently gazing at my face, Isaac replied, "You don't like you are planning on telling it."

"Only time will tell, Isaac. In the first place, do you believe everything this book had said? What about the authenticity of the information? If I was wrong, it might cause the deaths of hundreds, no, thousands of people."

I said those things with a straight face, afraid that if something slipped into my expression, making Isaac do something proactive that I wouldn't expect.

Of course, I was planning on telling it… if they pay.

There's nothing free in this world.

The holder of the information which is me will put this to good use. Who knows, maybe this book contains a lot more information than what meets the eye and by the end of the year, I'll be filthy rich to help people from the Anomalies.

Besides that… it allowed me to know some things about Piece.

'My Swindler Piece corresponds to talking. Does that mean, I would have to continue talking to achieve compatibility? If so, how do I know that I have achieved it? Well, the only way to know is to continue reading this book until the end…'

Having been tempted to read the book, I let out a sigh before I stand up, and talked to Isaac about some matters, "We'll explore this place at the end of the week, exactly three days. We're only to explore, and watch some things that might be dangerous for people to get in."

Isaac looked at me in concern before saying, "Why are you so careful about Ruins? It's already proven Ruins are safe aside from the traps but they were easily countered."

Ruins are safe… it's something I found unbelievable, knowing a major event that will happen in the future changes the whole perception of Ruins.

Even though it still didn't happen yet, it's better to be safe than sorry.

When he didn't receive any answer from me, Isaac nodded in silence before walking outside with the throne with me.

We met the duo at the very entrance and they were very smart to leave marks along their way. Isaac did the same without my attention and I was glad that he did, meaning everything we went through has been cleared, and had nothing to worry about the dangers.

Isaac began to tell the operation we would be doing for the whole three days that I had discussed with him and after that, without further ado, we set off towards the castle together to venture deeper at it.

"Young master Noelle, someone has sent you a reply." Klein, who was arranging the baggage inside the carriage, suddenly called me, "It's from a username Freya."

'Ma'am Freya…' Musing that thought inwardly, I smiled and nodded, "Thank you, old man. I'll get right on it. I'll just have to wait for Valen and Isaac to come back."

Three days had passed since then and it was finally the end of the week. Our exploration smoothly sailed as we didn't encounter any problems so far.

Now, Valen and Isaac were just retrieving some Pieces we could put into use that looked good enough. There was safety equipment was placed from time to time for the Piece and we've retrieved some of them.

After waiting for a few minutes, Valen and Isaac walked together as they brought Piece in a bag which is safety equipment for Pieces.

"We got these goodies, hehe," Valen smirked as she spoke with a wistful tone, jabbing her elbow at Isaac who appeared emotionless throughout the whole ordeal.

"Let's move out. This time, to our real destination." I paused as I gestured my hands on the carriage, "Put the bag inside the carriage. Arrange yourself first then we'll go."

The three smiled and nodded without any disapproval before I entered the carriage alone first, tapping some buttons like the other instruction had told me to hear the message.

Putting what seemed to be the hearing device near my ear, I proceed to hear Freya's reply.

"Young master Noelle. Hah, sorry for replying only this time. Some of your questions could be answered by me personally. It seems you are going to The Eleyah Continent to attend some business.

"We'll personally meet each other. I have another task I would give you to do and it will be very hard. Go for a shop name Aragon. It's a hidden guild that belongs to us in Lockwerk City. You don't have to worry about the travel since you'll have to go through that city to set aboard a ship towards Eleyah.

"Again, I apologized for replying late. A lot just… well, happened. Hope for a better relationship in the future as always Noelle."

The reply stopped, bringing down the hearing the device and mused, 'She has some business to do there also? How will we meet there though… It's not like she will wait for us to come there. We're not VIPs…'

Shaking my head, unknown of what to think of The Justice movements, I called everyone to get inside the carriage.

Unlike our first day of venturing out when I was the one driving, everyone began following their schedule on who will be driving the carriage.
