Maiden's Pain

The traumatic journey of a young Maiden

Preface

In Maiden's Pain, we follow the story of a young woman named Addies, who has experienced more pain than most people can imagine. From an early age, she was forced to live in a world full of violence, abuse, and neglect. But through it all, she remains strong, determined, and resilient.

As we delve into Addie's story, we witness how she learns to deal with her pain and eventually find a sense of healing and hope. Through her struggles, we are reminded of the power of resilience and the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity.

This novel is not an easy read but it is powerful. It's a reminder that no matter how much pain we may feel in life, we still have the inner strength to get through it. We hope Addie's story inspires others to face their pain and find the courage to heal and move on.

A Maiden's Pain

How I wish it didn't happen

...Episode 1

Life wasn't fair to me from the start.

Born into a family of ten: 3 boys and 5 girls plus mom and dad, survival is a struggle. My father was a palm distiller and my mother a grocer.

We live in a remote village somewhere in the southeast of Nigeria. My father's jaggery business didn't earn him much, and even after merging with the money earned from my mother's small business, my parents still couldn't afford 3 meals. To support the family, being the first born. Followed by a male, then a female, before the last two. I never went to school even for a day. None of us did.

My father continued his usual job extracting jaggery and never came back. After the search party dispersed, it was discovered that he had fallen from a palm tree and died instantly.

The sudden death of my father caused my family to get into even more terrifying problems that my mother could not cope with. Things got worse after my father was buried and my mother had to send us to live with different people in town.

I was 15 at the time and my brother was 13. It was my father's sister who made the proposal to my mother and my mother quickly accepted the idea and soon introduced me to my grandmother.

In a few days the whole arrangement was complete and I followed her to Enugu City. The first days I was treated well probably because it was the first day I arrived.

I was shown around the house, taught how to use some of the equipment and also shown to the small room which was my room and also the air mattress which was my mattress. After that, I settled into my new place hoping everything would go well and she wouldn't have a reason to send me home anytime soon...

A Maiden's Pain

...Episode 2

A life of suffering

A strong blow from the stick set me free the next morning.

"So you're still asleep?" my woman asked, staring hard at me. "So you're still asleep at 7 in the morning?" Repeat, striking two more blows with the stick. "Who are you waiting for to clean up the mess in the kitchen and clean the floor?" she asked. "I'm sorry mom," I'm crying.

"Come on, let's go to the morning service!" He barked when I walked out of the room and into the kitchen. **************************************

It wasn't my fault that I got up so late that morning.

The night before, I had worked hard to clean the dishes used to prepare and serve the night's meal. When I finished and went to bed, the night was long gone.

I cried as I washed the remaining dishes in the sink and swept the whole house. My lady's harsh voice from the bedroom reminded me of him saying, "Make sure you have water after you clean that thing."

"Yes, ma'am," I answered hastily. The buckets I use to get the water are Saclox buckets so big I didn't even try to fill them up to my mouth.

I had to fill a very large drum on the front porch with another drum in the back. For over 3 hours I carried buckets from the well to the barrel and back again.

When I finished, I was very hungry and exhausted. My grandmother gave me two slices of bread and a cup of water made in the name of tea.

The tasteless hot drink almost burns your tongue at the first sip. My daughter is married to a wealthy husband and they have 3 children, the last of which is very beautiful.

Apparently she went to babysit. The other two - a boy and a girl - are much older but still require a certain level of care such as being bathed, washed and even fed as planned.

But then, the tender kid caused the biggest problem. He cried a lot and most of the time he always got me in trouble.

I only had two slices of bread and water in my stomach, which I carried everywhere to try to hold back my tears. "Why is this child crying?" I asked the woman to come into the living room. I answered him in horror: "I don't know, mom."

"Let's go!" A hot slap fell on my right cheek and I almost dropped the baby in pain. "What are you trying to do now?" my grandmother asked, and she angrily approached me. "Please, I'm sorry, Mom," I cried. The girl's loud screaming accompanied by her slapping made the child cry even louder and the girl pushed her away from me. "Go, go get his father hot water!" I honked and obediently ran to the kitchen.

Episode 3

I immediately turned on the stove, put some water in the kettle and put it on the stove. "Do you want to put some water in it?" my wife yelled from the living room. "Yes, madam," I said, wracking my fingers in fright. "Let's go wash the napkins now," he commanded and led me into the living room. He gave me some dirty tissues and I took them to the bathroom to wash. I had just dipped the towel in the water when I heard the woman's voice directing me further. "Will I survive if you keep wasting kerosene in this house!" he cried. "Or are you telling me you don't know hot water boils?"

I replied "sorry mom". "Sorry for being so stupid!" to reply. I quickly washed my hands and ran to the kitchen to get hot water. I didn't know where to cook the porridge, so I went to the living room to ask the owner. "But where is your father?" I asked shivering. "Idiot, Dad over there!" I got angry as I pointed at the refrigerator. I went to the fridge, got the baby food, put it back and brought it to her in the living room. Then I went to the bathroom to continue using the wipes. The baby's cry echoed throughout the house and soon I heard my grandmother calling me. "Surprised!" I called. "Yes mama," I say, as I wash my hands again and run into the living room. "Sing to her, sing to her," he urged. "Well, don't cry, don't cry," a cryptic song interrupted. Fortunately for me, the baby stopped crying and listened to my song as he devoured his hot food. When she was done, she took the plate to the kitchen, rinsed it, and then went to the bathroom to wipe it with a wet tissue. Soon the boy went to bed and the woman went to bed too and I had very little time for myself...

Two other kids, Nnenna and Chimaobi, come home early from school and spread school uniforms, slippers and backpacks around the living room to create more work for me.

"Where's my food?" Shimaobe claims that he possesses far more powerful powers than his 3-year-old thought. "He's mine too!" Nina added.

I replied: inside the fireplace. "Go and bring it to me!" Chimaobi ordered. Who knows how far Shimaobe and baby Nina will take me. My youngest child is over 10 years old. Bring them food from the kitchen and give it to them. Without the woman, these children would resent me, but your presence is hellfire. Not to mention that he received a report from one of his sons. I've only had two slices of bread and water since the morning and I'm still struggling. I cleaned the living room, took off the school uniform, schoolbags, slippers that the children had left there, and went to the bathroom to wash the school uniform. I had just started washing my uniform when the woman got up. "I hope the children eat," she asked with puffy sleepy eyes. "Yes mom, they did," I replied. Then he went to the bathroom to calm down.

Addies! I called.

"Yes, mom," I replied. "Did you flush this toilet today?" she asked.

I replied: "No, mom." "If I meet you in that bathroom, I'll rip you apart!" Threatens.

I rushed to the balcony to get a mop and a bucket to wash the toilet. "Why haven't you washed it since morning?" she asked.

I replied: "I forgot about you." He pushed me hard and I fell backwards, almost hitting my head against the wall.

"Stupid ass!" He swore and went back to his bedroom. Tired, hungry and exhausted, I flushed the toilet.

When I'm done, I go back to the bathroom to finish washing the kids' school uniforms. When I finished washing my school uniform, hunger gripped my stomach.

But I don't have the courage to tell a woman I'm hungry. All I did was crawl into the corner of the kitchen and cry softly.

The woman's husband came back in the evening and noticed my eyes were red. "Why are your eyes so red?" he asked, looking at my face.

"No, sir," I lied to avoid trouble. "You cry?" he asked again, looking into my eyes.

"No sir," she lied again. "Okay, take it," she said and handed me a can of juice.

My face lit up as she handed me the juice. "Thank you," I say goodbye and walk into the kitchen with a juice box.

I quickly took the juice and my stomach settled a bit. The family had dinner around 8pm but nothing was given to me until I had finished washing all the used dishes and pans.

Then the lady gave me a very small piece of food, not enough even for a small child, and I went to bed. I ate hastily and went back to my little room to get some sleep because I was so tired and exhausted…

A Maiden's Pain

Hated by those that l o v e d me

...Episode 4&5

I woke up in the middle of the night, listening to her and her husband whisper softly.

"Give me more strength," the woman whispered, breathing heavily. My heart skipped a few beats at the thought that the woman was in danger, but I stayed calm and listened some more.

Their beds creaked more and the woman's voice entered my room again. Groan "Ouusss… mmm… ahhh," Groan.

Then I realized what was happening. The woman and her husband are there again and another child may be born.

After a few minutes, the woman's husband started moaning loudly and then fell silent. My lady said, "My dear, you are wonderful."

Her husband answered, laughing a little: "And you, too, my queen." I didn't know when I fell asleep and when I woke up it was already morning.

I immediately got up and went to the morning service. Within an hour, I was done and sat on the mortar in the kitchen waiting for Grandma to wake up.

Part of the woman's warning to me was that under no circumstances should I sit on the upholstered chairs in the living room. He says: "If you want to sit down." "Sit on mortar in the kitchen and never in the living room."

There is no reason for me to touch the remote in the living room, let alone turn on the TV. The dining room is also out of my lap, so I eat in the kitchen and on top of my mortar.

That morning, about eleven o'clock, she got up very late and went to look everywhere but found nothing to complain about but was not satisfied with it. "Who turned on the toilet light?" he asked frowning.

"I don't know you," I replied. I hit my head hard screaming in pain and ran to the bathroom to turn off the light.

Then she went back to her room. "Honey, I suggest you go easy on that girl," I heard my wife's husband admonish her.

Madam replied, "That girl can be very annoying." And he added, "Can you imagine I haven't even flushed the toilet yet," which was a pretty big lie.

Be patient with her," my wife's husband insisted, "I think she will learn," he added. The woman replied, "I hope so."

I feel very bad. The toilet my madam lied about not being cleaned was the first thing I cleaned that morning.

Why my woman means so much to me is something I can't explain. I did my best to please this woman, but all my might just wasn't enough.

I swallowed hard and let the irritation pass. At noon the lady ordered me to prepare her and accompany her to the market.

Her husband stayed with the child and waited for us to return. We got on the bus and the woman sat down while I continued to stand.

A passenger got off at the bus station on Saturday and left an empty seat. I decided to sit out of exhaustion. The strong blow to the woman's thigh made me stand up instantly.

"Who allowed you to sit down?" She sighed looking at me. "Does your dead father pay, or is your mother the poor and miserable in the village?" he asked, staring hard at me.

His words hurt like a slap in the groin, but I kept trying. "Please rest assured, ma'am," a man sitting behind us pleaded. "He will learn over time."

My grandmother was silent and did not say a word in response. When we got to the market, the woman bought all the things we were going to buy and put them on my head until we got home.

"Wash and chop the vegetables," my grandmother ordered. "Because I'm going to cook soup tonight."

Tired and exhausted, I immediately set to work.

Within 30 minutes I finished my vegetables. Then I also proceeded to cut the okro.

When I finished, I was very tired, so I went to my little room to rest a bit...

A Maiden's Pain

Untold pain

Episode 6

Little did I know I had been resting asleep until a very heavy rope fell on my back and made me stand up in pain. I rose to my feet immediately and soon saw where the lash of wire was coming from.

Time is about 16:00 in the evening and I should release the trash since then.

"Who are you waiting for to release the basket?" My woman asked to raise her hand very high to release another eyelashes. Just then the bell rang and my lady took her hand.

He said, "Go and see who's at the door." I ran to the door and opened it.

An old man and a woman stood in front of the door. "Is your people around?" The old man asked.

I was a little confused about what I needed to answer. I remember that there were times when my wife wanted to see tourists and I often asked me to say who was not present.

I fought confusion when the woman entered. "Ah, father," my woman gasped when she saw them. "Good evening, Dad, good evening, Mom," he greeted at once. "Ah, my daughter," replied the old man. "Good afternoon nwam." He added. "Please come," my grandmother called.

She immediately gave up, and the old man and woman entered the house. "And your husband?" asked the woman.

"He went to work," my woman replied. "And the kids?" The woman continued.

My wife replied, "They sleep inside." "Adaeze!" I called.

"Yes aunty," I replied, and ran to answer her. He told me, "Go get a drink," and gave me some money.

I ran to a nearby store and, without wasting time, bought a drink. Then I presented it to the guest and went back to the kitchen.

Then I took the box inside a polyethylene bag and went to dispose of it. I went to my friend's complex to contact her.

Chidimma is the top of the house in a nearby mixture and always treats our waste together. We decided which path to take.

Shidima told me how cruel her grandmother was. How his lady uses her high heels to hit her on the head when she makes a mistake.

He even revealed to me how her husband snuck into her room at night to make out with her without her knowing. All of this weighed heavily on her and she wanted to let off some steam by trusting me.

I reassure her and encourage her not to lose hope that one day things will change for the better. She thanked me profusely for my words of encouragement, unaware that my grandmother at home was as hard as he was if not more; Only my husband didn't sneak into my room.

However, I acknowledge her gratitude and encourage her not to lose hope.

"What money did you lose?" asked the lady.

I replied: "Soap money." He said, "You must be stupid." "Come closer and open your mouth!"

I think my lady was right to suspect that I had used the money to buy some food, so she wanted to confirm or deny her suspicions. With trembling feet, I stepped forward and opened my mouth.

I gently put the baby on the pillow and sniffed my mouth. He exclaimed: "Oh." "Did you use my money to buy Okpa?" she asked. "And you had the guts to lie to me that you lost your money?"

The woman lunged at me with all the fury her muscles could muster.

When her hand started to hurt, she picked up the floss and kept going. She screamed in pain and anguish, but the woman relentlessly persisted.

A white woman who lived across the street from the building was passing by and she heard my voice and stopped to see what was going on. She is a lawyer and works for the Human Rights Commission.

Without knocking, she opened the door and saw my lady hitting me with a piece of wire...

"Oh, my God!" The woman screamed and Madam froze in shock. My grandmother was not facing the door, so she didn't see the woman enter, so she didn't know that the woman saw her hit me with a long string, and I was suddenly startled by a strange sound.

"I will report to the Human Rights Commission!" The woman barked with a foreign accent and ran out of the house. My wife stood on the spot for several minutes, trembling visibly.

He didn't know whether to chase after the white woman who had just left the house, or to continue beating me. She stood bewildered.

I also stood motionless, not wanting to anger her with sudden or unexpected actions. He suddenly turned around and entered his room.

Around 3pm, the white woman came back with some policemen to arrest my grandmother. My lady called me and asked me to take care of the house, to which she would return in a second.

The woman examined my arms and legs and noticed scars all over. Then I left with my madam and the police...

**************************************

Madam returned later in the night with her husband.

I think her husband saved her from police custody that night. That night I overheard her husband talking to her about the way he treated me.

He advised her to take it easy with me and stop bringing her family to public attention. My grandmother was silent.

He was less aggressive with me and took things lightly with me. But after that his change of attitude did not last long and soon the next day saw his return to aggression and brutality...

A Maiden's Pain

By His Grace

..Episode 7

That day, I ate around 10 pm.

Without Okpa and the water package I bought earlier in the day, I wonder what would have happened to me. My mistress went back to her husband and gave me some rice on my plate and gave it to me.

I thanked him and sat down to eat.

The food was still hot and tasty, even though it had been cooked early in the morning before the white woman incident.

I ate it in a hurry, then washed the dishes and put it on the grill to dry ...

**************************************

The next day was Saturday and unfortunately I didn't get up early. I was very tired and exhausted when I went to bed last night so I don't know when the morning will be.

This time the fury of the wire splinter that pierced my neck hurt ten times more than I had ever felt before in my life. I screamed so loudly that my wife's husband came into my room to see what was happening to me.

My wife just heard her husband's approaching footsteps, threw the wire under my bed and smiled at me to warn me not to speak. "what's the problem?" asked my grandmother's husband as soon as he entered my room.

I cried silently. "Why are you crying?" he asked looking back at me.

To get an answer, I cried some more. "Honey, why are you crying?" he asked in front of his wife, ma'am.

The woman is silent. "Can someone tell me what's going on here?" The woman's husband insisted.

I do not speak, the girl does not speak. In a fit of rage, the husband stormed out of the room and into the master bedroom...

In the evening, when the lady's husband returned from work, he called me aside and asked why I was crying in the morning.

"No, sir," I replied, not wanting to reveal myself. "Let's go, my dear," he urged. "Miss, you are not here, you have to tell me what happened."

I remained silent for a few seconds before responding. She revealed: "The woman hit me with a rope." "And hide it under the bed."

"truly?" church. "Yes sir," I replied. I added "Let me finish my tablet please". He replied, "Okay," and left.

I finished washing the dishes and went to take out the trash for the day. I didn't go to call Shidima like before, so I left early.

Then she continued to nurse the child while the woman bathed at night. But the lady's husband, who looked at me in this way, annoyed me, but I pretended not to notice.

I focused on the baby I was sitting on and completely ignored him. My wife quickly finished showering and joined us in the living room.

She took the child in my arms and told me to go to the kitchen. I immediately obeyed and left the living room.

In the kitchen, I think about my life. There was no hope for me going to school and my wife and I didn't think that way.

Then I think of my lady's husband and the way he's been looking at me lately and I wonder what he's thinking exactly. At fifteen, my breasts had grown considerably and my hips were innocently round.

Could this be what the husband is staring at? I can not say.

I sat in the kitchen until it was time to cook dinner, and then set to work grinding, crushing, and mincing the spices needed for the soup. When I finish my work, I give birth while my wife works.

Within two hours, the soup was ready, so she and her family ate before serving the soup in a rubber plate and ate it without complaint or discomfort. She then proceeded to wash the dishes used to prepare and serve food before going to bed.

At around 1am my wife's husband snuck into my room while I was fast asleep and started groping me all over. I woke up shivering and in shock but he silenced me and begged me to cooperate but I resisted and begged him not to force me.

Feeling angry and humiliated, he crept out of my room and went back to their master bedroom...

A Maiden's Pain

House Torments

Episode 8

From that night on, the lady's husband became friendly to me again, much to her surprise. My husband stood up for me at the slightest opportunity, surprising and bewildering my grandmother.

One day, my grandmother beat me for accidentally spilling water on the kitchen floor while washing dishes. It was Saturday, my husband didn't go to work.

The pain of the lady's flat right palm hitting the middle of my back made me scream as she continued her attack without flinching. Hearing my screams from the bedroom, her husband rushed from the bedroom to the kitchen to see what was wrong.

"Can you imagine this silly girl carelessly spilling water on the floor even when I was warned," my wife explained once her husband entered the kitchen. "And damn what?" My husband's barking silenced my wife. She had hoped that her husband would support her as before, but to her surprise, the response she received was more shocking than she expected. "And let this be the last time this girl is treated in this way. I'm even sorry I took you out of police custody, you tough woman. exclaimed the husband.

My wife could not utter a word. She was shocked by her husband's sudden and unexpected outburst, made worse when it all took place in the presence of the most insignificant person: my humble self. The husband returned to the bedroom.

The beauty stopped and did not know what to do. I stood there, confused.

Finally she slowly entered the bedroom with her husband while I stood in the kitchen half amused and half confused. My grandmother didn't say a word to me all that day. She didn't issue orders as usual and just did what I knew I had to do. The whole house was as silent as a cemetery because the baby's crying would sometimes stop as soon as my grandmother intervened with breast milk and lullabies.

And so the silence lasted until night fell and everyone fell asleep. At about 3 am my husband crept into my room to enjoy my innocent and unripe honey cake...

Her husband's attitude towards me changed dramatically after that night and became tough and aggressive.

He barked at me at the slightest opportunity and complained about everything I did. The day I accidentally spilled water on the floor while trying to get a drink, I got a pretty harsh slap in the face and promised to do worse the next time I tried.

My aunt also noticed a change in her husband's behavior and wondered to herself even though she didn't tell me. One evening while I was washing dishes in the kitchen, the woman's husband entered the kitchen and stood quietly behind me.

When he cleared his throat, I spun around him, my legs trembling. "You think you're smart, right?" He looked at me questioningly.

I replied, trembling, "No, sir." "I'm sorry sir."

"You refused my offer, right?" he asked again. "I will make this house very uncomfortable for you until you learn your lesson."

These words made me tremble and my legs trembled with fear. In my quiet moment, I think of all that my lady's husband has said to me and feel the need to give him what he wants at least to gain his support.

The abuse of women alone was hell to talk about when Oga got involved in the abuse the situation was horribly awful. But then I did not know how to contact my husband and tell him about my decision.

Day by day I got more and more punishment and Uga stopped interfering with your mistress, unlike before when he never supported my mistress. Then one evening, when I went to clean up the plate where my husband was eating his watermelon, I mustered up the courage to close my left eye, he immediately explained and was silent.

I learned in the village through casual chatter among village teens that a wink to a man meant interest, so at the time, I had to use it on my husband, the women themselves. Then that night the expected thing happened.

My wife's husband crept into my room and this time I did not resist. In the dark of the night, his fingers were looking for the wetness of my tender hole and when he found it he crept in to touch it.

Then he ordered me to take off my pants and she immediately obeyed me out of fear. He spread my legs and lay on top of me as I felt a part of him pushing inside me and I felt a sharp, sharp pain.

I tried not to scream for fear of waking my lady, but I couldn't help but groan. He wasn't gentle at all and was sporadically in and out of me until he started convulsing like someone with epilepsy and I felt a warm liquid rushing inside me.

Then he fell on top of me, panting. Then he got up, put on his pants, and crept back into their master bedroom...

A Maiden's Pain

A Sorrowful Cry

Episode 9

My husband found me lying innocently on the carpet in my shabby nightgown.

He didn't say a word, but just stared at me for a few seconds before walking away. I woke up when I felt a hand pat my shoulder and opened my eyes.

"Baby, I am," she whispered. I repeated: "I, baby."

I already know what he wants, so I don't waste time taking off my pants and positioning myself for him. He arrived first as usual and started pushing like a typical goat mating with a goat.

But then, as she slowly approached the climax, their master bedroom door gently opened and her husband froze in fear, stopping abruptly halfway through his attempts. He was lying between my legs when the door opened and the woman walked out of the room and into the bathroom.

The lights were out so everything was dark except for the torch the woman was holding. My husband asked me to be silent and obey.

He quickly removed his penis from my body and calmly pulled his pants down.

The woman went straight to the bathroom and opened the door. The door was open, but no one was inside. The husband saw an opportunity and crept into the master bedroom.

Seconds later, my lady closed the door and went back to the bedroom. She listened intently when the woman asked her husband where he had gone and the husband replied that he had gone out onto the balcony to get dressed.

Then silence returned all around. But then my gut told me the woman must have broken up what happened even if she didn't say so.

It was the question he asked me the next day that made my heart and my whole body shiver again…

"My husband came to your room last night, didn't he?" my woman asked, looking at me suspiciously. "Ms. Nu," she lied bluntly.

I really can't imagine accepting such an ugly fact, let alone speaking out. "Oh no, come to my room," I added.

"Can you swear to God that Ogg didn't come to your room last night?" I continue. "Madam, I swear, Uga no, come to my room, I swear." I've answered.

"It's all right, let's see," he concluded, and went back to their master bedroom, leaving me standing alone in the kitchen with my troubled conscience...

[April 24, 12:44] Golden Ray: Torments of the House of Help...,,,,,,, Episode 16

I was surprised when my wife's husband came back in the evening with some new clothes that he had bought for me. It was very unusual and unexpected.

And the length of the woman's face and his hair with anger and frustration. He could not hide his bitterness.

She sighs, sobs, slams the door, and grimaces, all to show not only her displeasure but her husband ignores her as well. Very malicious, she lost her temper.

"stupid!" he cried. "Aren't you ashamed? No, tell me, aren't you ashamed of yourself? public maid? This is what makes your head spin. Because of this bitch you no longer know your wife! A woman lights a fire.

"Don't offend me," she warned her husband softly but sternly. He repeated: "I said don't insult me."

"And if I offend you, what will happen?" the woman replied. "No, tell me," he continued. "If I offend you, what will happen? Ω„ !"

The last insult was too much for her husband to bear.

He glared at his wife and slapped her hard on her left cheek. The sound of the slap sent me jumping and left me staring in awe, confusion, and fear at the couple.

While I was somewhat delighted that the woman was finally tasting a cake of her own, I dreaded the uncertainty and the possibility that the aggression transmitted might catch me off guard. My wife cried out in pain, "Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy," scratching her husband with her long, sharp fingernails.

Upset by the wife's insolence and aggression, the husband violently continued the assault. His slaps turned into blows and his wife became a punching bag and I became the spectator.

"Oga biko ozugo" Ibo begged the lady. "Oga abeg e don do" she continued.

The husband ignored me and the fight continued. My wife cried, "You will kill me today." "You have to kill me today," he continued. Like it or not, you must kill me today!

The husband continued to beat her while the wife was stubbornly holding on to his pants.

The kids were sleeping in the master bedroom so they couldn't hear what was going on. In the end, Oga and his wife got tired and the fight ended...

For several days, the woman's face remained swollen and she and her husband did not speak to each other.

Oga stops eating the woman's food. The increasing distance between them strengthened my relationship with her husband.

Night after night, sneak into my room and enjoy honey cake. There were days when he came home earlier than usual when she wasn't there and we had sex all over the house.

I know I'm playing a very dangerous game, but I'm doing everything I can to survive...

A Maiden's Pain

The Iron Hold

Episode 10

The silence between my wife and my husband was so long that at some point I began to pray that this would not lead to divorce. How do I accept if I have to separate my husband and the woman whom God is bringing together.

Just thinking about it scared me. She and her husband were like two enemies in the same house, and often there were conflicts.

One Saturday in particular, the lady wanted me to go to a nearby supermarket to buy some supplies for her. Meanwhile Oga wants me to make breakfast for him before anything else.

A power struggle ensued. Madam asked before I close my eyes, run to the supermarket and buy me those supplies.

And the husband replied, "If you move an inch, I'll break your head." Her husband said, "I'm not going anywhere until I serve you breakfast.

Husband and wife are standing at a crossroads, which side does not give way. I stood in the middle of the entire movie, confused. It was then that I realized the validity of the proverb that said that it is difficult if not impossible to serve two masters at the same time. The drama continued for more than ten minutes before the woman had enough and confronted her husband.

And my wife added, "You're biting off more than you can handle in this house."

"You must be crazy," exclaimed the husband. "My friend will bring me breakfast," he added, turning to me.

This time she did not disobey, so I went to work. In an hour, breakfast was ready and I went out, then ran to the supermarket to buy some supplies for the woman.

I went to the supermarket in five minutes and found out that the supplies my madam had sent me to buy had run out and still needed to be replaced. So I went home to inform the lady about the new development but she yelled at me and asked if the supermarket was the only one in the neighbourhood.

I went back to look for things in other supermarkets and when I walked into one of the supermarkets, my eyes met a cute boy who also came to buy some things. I felt the funny butterfly in my stomach and fell in love instantly.

But then the guy got so caught up in buying something that he didn't notice me. Out of frustration, I rushed off to buy supplies and forgot my change in the process.

I was thinking about the boy and the whole play when I got home and the woman asked her to change. At that time the husband had left the house and moved out.

The slap hit me in the face when I couldn't get the woman to rest enough to kill a one-month-old infant, if not more. Other slaps quickly followed and I ran out of the house in pain to get the rest.

Tears kept falling as I ran to get my change. On the way, I passed a nice guy who made me forget the change and walked past me and didn't even notice me.

Nothing impresses me, so I don't necessarily blame him. My clothes are torn, my hair is disheveled, and my shoes are worn out.

Tears welled up in my eyes after I got over it and soon I was on my way to the supermarket to buy the rest. Then I'll go home...

Oga came back later in the evening and honked his car horn loudly, signaling me to go out and get the groceries he had bought.

I put on slippers and immediately went out to get food. There was plenty of rice, a can of canned tomatoes, some onions, and a bunch of other toppings.

I picked up the bag of rice first, then the can of canned tomatoes, then walked out with the last batch of seasoning he had bought because he stuffed a plastic bag in his pocket and told me the plastic bag was mine. I brought spices and a polythene cipher to my room.

"Show me the suitcase you carry to your room!" Madame was suddenly blocked by the master bedroom door. I froze with fear and my legs wobbled.

"It's the laundry detergent I gave him to use and wash our sheets," Uga immediately interjects, escorting us to the lobby. The woman went back to the master bedroom while I went back to my little room with the polythene.

Inside the polythene was a piece of chicken, popcorn and a can of soft drink. The performance was so delicious that I immediately left the meat pie without delay.

The meat pie was so sweet I almost bit my finger when I devoured it. The chicken came right after that and was absolutely delicious. It was well seasoned and roasted and I devoured a lot in a short time. Then I rinse it off with a cool drink and wipe my mouth.

I folded the poly bag with the empty can and threw it in the trash. I feel happy and well taken care of by Oga even though Madam Jezebel from home is still there.

At about 9 pm the whole family had dinner and went to bed. I stayed to clean up and wash the dinnerware before dinner.

Then I go to bed. Around 1am Oga sneaks in as usual and I wake up to feel his hands sliding up and down on my waist and below.

Before that, he suggested I stop wearing pants to bed so it would be faster and easier without having to start messing around in the dark trying to get my pants off. I followed her suggestion and from that day I stopped wearing pants to bed.

That night he walked in, there was no traffic jam, he touched my whole body with his hand, enjoyed the soft lines, and immediately fell in love. Then he hacked me.

A Maiden's Pain

But Why

Episode 11

"Ogha didn't come to my room," I replied in a trembling voice, determined not to give up.

The woman stared at me from top to bottom, the venom evident in her eyes. She seemed sure her husband had been in my room the night before.

But then, even if I put a knife to my neck, I can't admit this fact because the situation is a bit like someone standing between the devil and the deep blue sea. All of my options point to disaster.

Admitting that you slept with Oga is indeed a very serious offense, so denying the wrongdoing is the best option. Secondly, maybe that woman is using my intelligence to try and find out the real truth by making this accusation to see my reaction.

To admit the truth is to deceive me cheaply. So I was against.

"What did my husband do last night in your room?" I stubbornly said, "Uga don't enter my daughter's room."

Eccentric woman. Like a flash of lightning, his right hand moved very quickly from left to right and hit me hard on the cheek.

I screamed in pain and was about to run away to the kitchen, but the woman rushed after me with force and anger and pulled me to continue the attack. Several slaps fell on my cheek and my crying doubled. However, the woman persisted relentlessly. She pushed me hard on my forehead and smashed my head against the wall behind me.

The pain is very severe. I cried out as loud as I could for the lady's forgiveness, but she still didn't finish.

I have decided not to let Oga into my chambers even if it means the loss of life, for if a simple refusal could result in such a punishment, God only knows how much punishment it would lead to confessing the crimes. So I was against.

The woman continued to beat. It wasn't even an hour into Oga and all this happened.

I know I'm in big trouble. The aggression and brutality was too much and unbearable, besides, I had more than seven days to survive and endure the horror.

Soon the woman's hand began to ache and she rushed into her bedroom and came out waving a long, twisted thread. Three straps on my shoulder caused me to run out of the house and walk around in excruciating pain.

I could not bear the pain, even for a moment, so I ran out of the house, out of the fence, to the fence of the nearby white woman ..

The woman in white stared in surprise as she came out to see me crying in front of her house. I knocked three times in a row and was knocked out on the third strike.

Surprise and concern appeared on her face and she stared at me for a moment before approaching. "Please, I need your help," I begged as he drew closer.

Tears welled up in my eyes and the fact that I was crying had caused her to sympathize so she came over and asked me what was wrong. I told her my wife abused me and almost killed me and ran away from home.

He asked about my lady and I told her and immediately remembered the last time we met and sighed. She told me she didn't have much to do and I realized this country is so corrupt and even if you arrest my lady like last time there is someone out there for her and the problem won't be solved.

She noticed without telling me that she didn't want to let me in because I was outside the gate the whole time. He advised me to go home and apologize to the lady and make sure she never got into trouble again.

Then she left me at the gate and entered. I was broken and confused as to what to do. Going home means destiny to me. I don't even have anywhere else to go.

I stood at the gate wondering what to do.

So I decided to stay at the gate even if it meant sleeping outside. But then I thought about the insecurity in the neighborhood. All the tough kids living around would have been happier to approach me later in the night and rape me mercilessly. The more I thought about it, the more confused I felt.

The day was too long to go. It was around 10 am and I don't know how busy it was and for how long.

So I decided to go home.

I finally opened the gate and entered. I was so scared and expected the worst. Frightened, I climbed the stairs in front of the door and crept up to the door and pushed it gently to see that it was firmly closed.

With the last drop of courage in me, I knocked on the door and got no answer. I've written over and over but never got an answer.

At the fourth knock, the door opened gently and the woman stepped aside to let me in. "Please, I'm sorry, Mom," I apologized at the door, falling to my knees.

"Don't you want to go in first?" the woman asked harshly and quickly followed suit. I just walked in, the woman closed the door tightly behind me and looked and saw a long string hanging from her left hand.

turning to me. The wires I heard before I could say "Jack" were wrapped around my neck.

Women know no mercy. He flogged me and flogged me and flogged me with wires that I almost felt like I was about to die.

I screamed and screamed but didn't feel comfortable. In fact, the woman was determined to kill me that morning.

The creak of the rope, striking one whip after another again and again, produced the pain the welder wanted as the wire rose into the air and landed on me. Each skin left a strange scar on my skin as the beating continued.

At some point the pain became unbearable and I passed out...

A Maiden's Pain

Between Life And Death

Episode 12

Oga returned a week later and found a very quiet home. The children were asleep, so the place was as silent as a cemetery.

The woman was in the master bedroom so I couldn't tell if she was awake or asleep. It was the sound of Oga's car engine that woke me up from where I was sitting in the kitchen and made me look out the window to peek.

Uga honked his horn three times in his signature manner and I came out to answer him casually and help him carry his luggage home. The sound of the trumpet seemed to wake the woman, who came out to stand at the door to meet her husband.

"Hi, dear," said the woman to him, which was somewhat unusual. The husband was surprised.

"Thank you, dear," he replied, placing his right hand on the woman's shoulder. The woman skillfully hid her bitterness and resentment.

I shuddered a bit as I stood in the kitchen waiting for the outbreak when the woman finally blew the bubble in front of him. I didn't expect what the result would be.

Whether to start packing or not.

Uga's right hand rested on the woman's shoulder as they entered the master bedroom together.

Uga took a shower and quickly went out to eat. The woman has gone too far.

The woman seems to have a hard time determining the best time to bring up the issue. So far she has remained very diplomatic as far as possible.

Ohja ate slowly and was hungry as the woman intermittently asked him about the conference. "Everything went well," he replied, gulping down a thick piece of Iba topped with Ogbono soup. "Even the governor of the state attended," he added. The woman remained silent and listened to the content of the lecture.

When Uga finished eating, he and the woman went back to the master bedroom. I washed the dishes and started eating. After I went back to my little room. Soon night came and everyone went to bed.

In the middle of the night, she hears a woman's voice awakening Oga from his slumber. "correct?" Oga answered in a sleepy voice.

The woman began firmly: "We need to talk." "about what?" Oga asked, annoyed that his sleep was being disturbed.

"What exactly is going on between you and our maid?" he asked the woman, expelling drowsiness from Oga's eyes. "Which maid?" Uga asked.

The woman answered, "Your servant." "You mean Adaeze?" Uga asked.

"Do you have another one?" the woman replied. "nothing is going on between me and that rag?" Uga asked.

Uga's speech hit me like a hammer. I couldn't believe my ears, but then I had no choice but to control my feelings.

Oga and Madam kept arguing all night until I could no longer hear their voices.

Then I wonder what the future holds for me...

A Maiden's Pain

The Future is Uncertain

Episode 13

When I woke up I was lying on the bed in my little room. I was so weak and tired it took me a few seconds to realize where I was.

I looked around and saw that I was in my usual clothes, but the scars on my body reminded me of what had happened. I don't know what time it is but looking out the window the sun is still shining means it's still afternoon.

I lay quietly in my bed, not wanting to attract my woman's attention. I can't guess what you're thinking, so you'd better keep quiet and restore enough energy before you recover.

I had been resting for about an hour when the lady came to check on me. I'm very hungry but I can bear it.

The lady came in and saw that I was awake and told me to go to the kitchen to eat. Tired, I stood up and followed her into the kitchen.

He put the rice and broth in a plate and gave it to me, I ate it in a hurry because I was hungry and needed more even though I didn't mention it. Then I drink a glass of water.

"Thank you, Mom," I say hello. He replied, "Oh, praise be to God." "Now are you ready to tell me what my husband did in your room last night?" He asked to stare at the corner of the kitchen. I followed her gaze and saw the wire lying there and my heart skipping a few beats.

I do not know what to say. I inadvertently opened and closed my mouth while silently calculating what would happen next.

"My husband came to your room late last night?" I asked the woman again, standing up from her seat and walking toward the long, twisted thread. I started crying right away.

From the anger in the woman's eyes, she was determined to do whatever it took to get the recognition she was looking for. The woman went to that corner of the kitchen and picked up the floss.

I trembled with fear and, trembling, stood on the mortar on which I was sitting. The familiar hissing sound began again as the first whip shot through the air and sank into the junction of my neck and left shoulder, causing me a new, indescribable pain.

"It's uga, it's uga," I shout, unable to bear the pain. "correct!" Women are welcome. "What did Oga do?" he asked the question. I cried hysterically: "Oga made me do that to him." "He came to my room and forced me and warned me not to tell anyone."

The woman paused for a moment, seemingly shaken by the confession she had just heard, but then her eyes lit up again. "And you kissed?" she asked, staring at me angrily.

I replied in self-defense: "My mother made me." "I force you! I force you! I force you!" The woman frowned as she threw me more steel ropes.

In pain, I walked out of the kitchen and towards the bedroom. The woman burst into the master bedroom, but on second thought, she went back out and into my small room.

"Better start packing because this house won't hold the two of us anymore," he snaps, pointing his index finger at me aggressively. I cried, "Auntie, please."

"Don't please me," he stormed out, bursting into the master bedroom and shutting the door. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

The woman calmed down after that and did not send me things as I threatened before, although her attitude towards me has changed dramatically.

She stopped talking to me and acted like I didn't exist even though she kept feeding me. I know he's patiently waiting for Oga to return before the main fight begins...

The next morning, Oga angrily stormed into the kitchen and confronted me.

"You live in this house now!" barked. "How dare you destroy my house? Little villain! You must leave immediately!"

I was white with fear and my limbs were trembling. "Go start packing now!"

I walked out of the kitchen and went into my room to pack my things. The way Oga gets angry and barks is so fierce.

I couldn't bear to have him attack me so forcefully. Going home is better than dying in someone else's house.

So I ran back to my room and started packing my things.

I even wanted to go home because the stress and trauma became unbearable.

I put all my clothes in one big bag and wait for the next one. Uga entered my room and ordered me to carry my bags to the car. I obeyed and did what he said. Then he put on his clothes and took me back to his village, as he said.

My mother was surprised to see that I came home so early. Oga's face also shows her that things are not right, so she has to ask him to come over and explain the reason for this unexpected return home.

"Your daughter wants to separate my family," Uga said to my mother. My mother trembled in disbelief.

"Equal?" I asked in surprise. "Ask your daughter!" Oga frowned, zoomed in on his car, and walked away from our group...

That night, my mother came to my room and asked me what really happened between me and the Oga family.

I patiently recounted everything that had happened and burst into tears, though I skipped the part about my eloping with Oga...

A Maiden's Pain

It Has Happened

Episode 14

Two days later, I woke up feeling weak and nauseous. I quickly got out and vomited my stomach contents onto the floor.

My mother saw my pain and ran to see what had happened to me. He looked at me for a few seconds with his right hand under his jaw.

"I hope this isn't what I'm thinking?" He looked at me questioningly. "I think it's malaria," I replied nervously.

"When was the last time you watched a broadcast?" Mom asked in a low voice. She remained silent and mumbled an inaudible answer.

"The bottle girl killed me!" My mother screamed and put her palms on her head. "Who did this to you?" she asked.

I muttered again. "Do you want to talk to me, you stupid girl?" My mother screamed as she approached me.

I started crying. "Let's go inside," I suggested, and we both entered.

Once inside, my mother reopened the discussion. "Now tell me who did this to you?" My mother flatly refused.

I don't know how to answer. I don't know if it was anyone other than Oga because he's the only one who has intimate access to my body.

I don't know how to reveal this fact to my mother. But then I had to.

"It's Uga," I replied, trembling with fear. "Do you mean the most expensive in the city?" my mother asked in astonishment. "It was Uga who brought you back to this house? I can not believe that! My mother confirmed.

"Oga did it for me," she repeated. "Chai!" my mother cried. "Your yoga in town?" she asked rhetorically, sounding frightened. "Yes, mom," I replied sobbing.

My mother could not believe her ears. He told me right away that we were going into town the next day.

The next day, we reached Oga's house around 2 pm. Uga wasn't there when we arrived, but the woman was around.

His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he opened the door and saw my mother and me. She couldn't hide her shock and anxiety despite her best efforts.

I'm sure her mind was spoiled even though she tried to hide it. My mother greeted me, "Hi, Mom."

"Where are the goats that called your husband?" my mother asked angrily, pushing the woman aside and galloping bravely into the living room. "How dare you call my husband a goat?" The woman barked back.

"My daughter is pregnant with your husband," my mother announced to the woman again, the news shocking her for the second time in a row. "What did you say?" I heard the woman who asked for uncertainty my mother is good. "Did you say what my husband did?"

"You are fine!" My mother caused. I stood next to my mother crying.

The woman was very surprised to speak. He had enough for the afternoon.

She quietly went into the master bedroom and locked herself.

I don't know if she called Oga or not, but after about 20 minutes Oga came back and met us in the living room. I think the woman called him because he wasn't surprised to see that we were people we already knew existed.

"How dare you carry my daughter?" My mother stood up. "from?" Oga pretends he doesn't know how to ask.

My mother replied: "Adayzeh, my daughter." Uga replied, "Please ma'am, I don't know what you're talking about," almost giving my mother a heart attack with her reply.

"And please, if you don't mind," Uga continued. "Get out of my house."

My mother could not believe her ears and in a rage stormed into Uga's house and dragged me away...
