Chapter 59 - Chapter 59 - Ma chérie

What to do, what to do?

I decided to bet on my parents being asleep. Though I am sure my mom would be itching to hear about the date, my parents are not night owls. I used to arrive late at night from college often on weekends when I was missing home. Even if I texted my parents ahead of time, they were always asleep on the couch.

So I hoped their habits did not change as it had been a while since I came home at that time. I got Dean up slowly and brought him in. I paused in my tracks when I heard the TV on in the living room. But thankfully my parents were fast asleep. The noise from the TV masked any sound I was making so I managed to get him to the stairs where after 15 minutes I got him up to my wing of the house.

I sat him down in the little couch area I had in my room and poured a glass of water for him to drink. After drinking he seemed more sober. 'I don't know how he manages to sober up so fast.' I gabbed him a better blanket and let him sit and drink for a while.

"Care to tell me why you are here at this hour?" He did not look away from the glass. "I am sorry, I was stupid and got drunk and I blacked out until I realized I was here." His voice dead and devoid of emotion.

My chest felt tight. In all the years I have known Dean, he never really looked so defeated. As an athlete there were games our schools team did not win but he never looked sad about it. Even as a child the few times we crossed paths he was always mischievous but when he got in trouble he still had a happy smile. He was not the type to be set back by things. He always had either a smile or a scowl on his face. But never sad.

He had to be lying. Or at least omitting something. "You sure? Dean we have known each other for many years, if something is bothering you tell me about it. Why don't we trade, I will tell you one thing if you share what is bothering you."

His face did not change, his gaze still glued to the glass. I figured he would not want to tell me much this time unlike when he got drunk before. "Ok then maybe next time. How about this, I will have you sleep here tonight and we can figure this out tomorrow."

Deans eyes closed and he finally settled the glass on the coffee table. I grabbed some extra pillows and blankets and adjusted the couch to make sure he was comfortable. I placed the extra couch cushions on the floor as well as laying a towel down incase he fell or threw up.

Once I tucked him in I left to get comfortable clothes. I was not going to sleep tonight. As tired as I was, I was unsure of how long Dean was outside for or how much he drunk. Despite his heavy tolerance I felt better about staying up to ensure he was fine.

Unlike before this time worried me more. So I got comfortable on the adjacent couch and grabbed my laptop to play a movie.

Within a few minutes I heard Deans soft breathing as he passed out. I checked on his temperature by pressing my hand to his head and pressing my other free hand to mine to compare temperatures.

He had warmed up considerably from when he was outside.

'Whew. He seems ok for now. I will have to sneak him out tomorrow maybe mid morning when my mom and dad leave for the gym.'

The movie I watched was hard to focus on. I kept finding myself staring at Dean sleeping. Every rustle and slight movement prompted me to look over. His face was handsome as he slept. His expression was peaceful which was rare for him.

His eyelashes were long and softly grazed at his cheeks. 'Oh Dean what in the world made you so upset.' I walked over and gently brushed his hair back to feel his temperature again. I yawned but suppressed the urge to sleep. I might just have to cancel any plans with Dante tomorrow to sleep instead.

'His breathing is even and his temperature is back to normal.' I was not sure when I passed out but I woke up with a crick in my neck from sleeping all huddled up on the love seat. 'Ahh my neck.'

I groaned in pain and gently tried to move my neck around slowly but it was too painful. I immediately felt some hand grab my head and neck. "Relax your head into my hands I am going to move you to your bed and then heat up a towel to relax the muscles."

Dean had woken up. I could not see his face very well so I could not see what he was feeling but at the moment I was grateful he was at least up and running on his own. He guided me into my room and helped me into my bed. Only letting his hands go from my body once he was sure I was in a comfortable position.

"Is your bathroom the door to the right?" I could not see but based on where I assumed he was facing he should be correct.

"Yes my hand towels are in my closet in the top drawer." Light footsteps gingerly walked into my closet as Dean went to grab the towel. I heard a slight slam before hearing footsteps again which walked into my bathroom.

"You ok?" 'Why did he slam my drawers?' The sound of rushing water came in before it shut off. Dean came back and answered my question. "Yeah sorry I was still dizzy from my hangover so I got disoriented and slammed the drawer when I went to use it for support."

The hot towel was placed right on my neck and felt so nice. "Ahh that feels nice, thank you Dean."

Finally Deans profile came into view and he looked much better than last night. "It is the least I can do ma chérie." He rubbed his hand against my hair as he sat down on the side of the bed. His hair hung messily and his eyes looked bright with mirth. Unlike the usual look he gives, he appeared much younger and boyish.

'I am glad he feels better.'
