Chapter 79 - 3.12 Sneaky

Under the many hanging crystal wine glasses, Thanh Van leaned with his elbows on the mahogany counter that was polished so smoothly he could see his own reflection.

He rested his chin on his palm. The still-wet strands of hair framed his cherub face, coiling over his gentle brows. His cheeks were tinted rosy, his free hand twirling a glass of whiskey. The grandfather clock ticked away in the background.

It was an hour to midnight.

The glass clinked as the ice cube crashed into the crystal walls.

Thanh Van chucked the rest of the drink and pushed the glass towards the bartender, motioning the NPC to refill it.

Whisky wasn't going to kill him, but apparently, the poisonous chemicals were stowed away and the NPC could only offer him the basic poisons of humanity instead.

Plain liquor.

Liquid sloshed around as the bartender did his thing. Thanh Van watched those smooth motions with a hazy gaze.
