Song Ruoxin hissed as her shoulder hit the door frame as she was pulled into the kitchen. Her mother ignored that and just rattled out instructions.
Song Ruoxin understood that while her mother's earlier words might have helped her save a little face it would keep her grandmother and aunts out of their business.
"Grandma's visit was quite unexpected, do you know why they are here, Mother?" she asked while washing the vegetables at the kitchen sink.
"Move back," her mother held a bowl under the faucet as she stepped aside, "Your second aunt's son is graduating next month, they are here to see a doctor and celebrate that".
She, shut the water and moved the bowl to the island, "I will find out the date, so make sure to be there. Don't give your aunts something to gossip about. It is bad enough that you are so stubborn, don't be completely unreliable".
Song Ruoxin frowned, "That is about three weeks away. Isn't it too long? Where are they saying?"
