The human body requires about a week to two weeks to heal from a flesh wound, depending on its depth. The compromised cells which made up the torn flesh is replaced by new cells. This is regeneration.
An injury as severe as Lucifer's would require at least a month to two months for his cells to regenerate replacing the damages cells and promote healing but something weird was going on at this time!
Lucifer could vividly feel his flesh closing up as his cells were rapidly been replaced. He could see his injuries healing at a rate visible to the naked eye!
This was something a Genetic soldier with only one level of ability should not be able to achieve.
The new form of energy seem to act as a catalyst for his regeneration as his cells were been regenerates at a rapid pace. He Gould feel the weakness of overusing and abusing the cells in his hands and leg were fading. It was as though he hadn't abused them in the first place!
"Have I created a High-grade Hemostasis serum by mistake?" Lucifer's eyes was full of shock. The healing serum Bayne had given to him had to put him to sleep for three days before he could fully heal but this one took roughly five minutes and his wounds had already closed with clotting blood over his wound.
Lucifer glanced at the two remaining fruits with glimmering eyes but then, his face was filled with regret. If he had know this fruit had such an effect when taken with the Milky-Ice Water, he would have taken more of the fruits.
Sadly, he couldn't enter the swamp any longer. The creatures there are already familiar with his tactics. Performing the same tactics there was asking to be killed. Just the Maneating Flowers are enough to drown him with their numbers if he encounters them, not to mention the other dangerous creatures that lurk in the shadows or below the swamp water.
Adjusting himself, he kept his stuffs and then proceeded to walk out of the lab. Almost at the same time, Michael also walked out from the other door.
In his hands was a cooler which is generally used to store organs within. Lucifer's eyes narrowed when he saw this.
"Is he actually planning to implant...?"
Shaking his head to get rid of the thought, he asked. "Are you done?"
Michael raised his head. His eye brows shot upwards upon seeing the state Lucifer was in.
"Yeah, I'm done. You seem to have had quite the struggle."
Lucifer shrugged. "It's nothing much. I guess it's safe to say we've completed the mission."
Michael placed the object in a prepared backpack and nodded. "The base wouldn't go back on its word, you can head back now."
The two people casually walked out of the base as though the battle that had happened within was nothing much.
Suddenly, Lucifer seem to have made sense of Michael's words and his brows furrowed. "You are not coming back?"
Michael chuckled coldly "Go back?"
Lucifer paused in his step and looked closely at Michael. He could see a sense of melancholy envelop the youth.
"Without the base, you would not last out there no matter how many levels of evolution you have undergone."
"Without the base? Would not last out there? HAHAHAHA!"
Suddenly, Michael's expression changed as he turned indifferent. "The base is just only just a starting point, a speck of dust compared to the vast universe out there. Why would I stunt my growth by limiting my self to that place where one is destined to rot and die at the hands of beast waves?
How would you hope to transcend when the Base master isn't even a true Transcendant? Leaving yourself to the will of the base is simply pathetic."
"It's really pitiful when I think about it. Kids coming from various places, conscripted to the base to have a slim chance at surviving, hoping to become strong enough, not knowing they are just cannon fodder for the base."
Michael paused then looked deeply at Lucifer as he clicked his tongue. "But you are different. You hid your strength so well. Someone like you should have been food for some creature the first month you arrived at the base. Who would have thought you really are a wolf in sheep's clothing."
Lucifer merely blinked at him and listened. Although he looked calm on the surface, his heart was pounding as he listened to Michael's words. The youth was getting to him.
Taking in a deep breath, Lucifer finally calmed down. "If I was the same as Oliver and Violet wouldn't I be waiting for you not knowing you were never planning on getting back to the base?"
Michael smirked devilishly. "Did you believe me?"
Lucifer remained silent but his silence was all Michael needed.
Michael's smile widened devilishly. "Naive. Too innocent. Those two should already be dead by now. So should you. Trusting anyone's words in this wasteland is equivalent to selling yourself to them."
Immediately, he saw Lucifer tensed up. He chuckled. "Hehe, don't worry. I'm not interested in your meager gains. I got what I wanted already." He said, pointing to his back pack.
Suddenly, Lucifer's pupils shrank as be noticed Michael's figure which was still pointing at the backpack behind him started to fade like an apparition.
"An after image!?" Lucifer's eyes widened as he caught the shadow of a figure emerging right on his flank, whispering so close to him he could feel the hot breath against his ear.
"Didn't I tell you not to trust anyone?"
Lucifer's face instantly paled. "What speed!" The speed wasn't as fast as the creature within the base, but it was still shocking especially coming from a youth that was the same age as Lucifer!
In Michael's hand was a military grade alloy blade. The tip of the steel reflected sunlight as it pierced straight into Lucifer's skin like a hot knife through butter, it was an ambush!
