Mr Marvin sat at the dining table still waiting for Leila to come down. It took a lot of persuading for him to leave Leila's door but even at that Beatrice was not able to convince him to eat.
Instead, he acted like he was waiting. Waiting for Leila to come down and join them. To join him to eat. But the night passed, morning came and he still had hopes of her coming down to eat.
Beatrice shook her head as she watched him from across the table. He had too much trust in Leila. In fact, he had too much trust in a lot of people and most times that was a mistake but he does not seem to want to stop anytime soon.
She glanced at her plate. It was empty. She was hungry and she wasted no time in devouring her food once she sat down while on the other hand, Mr Marvin's plate was full to the brim. He has not eaten for two days now. That is not good for his health in anyway.
