It didn't seem like Eva understood why Xylon was acting that way, but Iclyn and Sylvan did.
Sylvan stood back with frustration etched on his face, while Iclyn chose to address the situation head-on.
Xylon rose swiftly, his demeanor tense as he approached Iclyn.
Eva, feeling the tension, sat back down, her eyes darting between them.
"Don't you dare speak of that bastard in front of me," Xylon snapped, his voice laced with venom.
But Iclyn, despite the danger, smirked. She couldn't help but feel a pang of hurt seeing Xylon's blind obsession with Eva, a depth he seemed unaware of.
"You hate him, I get it... he hurt her, I get it," she began cautiously, her tone measured.
"But he was not wrong... you do act so obsessively over her... you want her so deeply..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Xylon's grip tightened around her neck, cutting off her words.
