Chapter 276 - The quiet tension

Eva's fingers trembled slightly as they hovered just inches from Xylon's face.

 Her eyes, filled with a mix of relief and exhaustion, gazed into his. 

It was as if she needed to touch him to reassure herself that he was truly alive and well.

"You are okay," she whispered softly, her voice barely more than a fragile breath.

 The words were meant for Xylon, but they were also a reassurance to herself, an affirmation that her risky actions had not been in vain.

Akuna voiced her worries about Eva giving so much of her blood and how they had struggled to wake her.

Eva's hand, which had been poised to touch Xylon, fell gently onto the bed.

 Her fingers grazed the fabric as she listened to Akuna's words. 

With a faint smile and unwavering determination, she whispered, "I gave him what he needed. Don't worry, Akuna. I'm okay."
