When the rupture was completely sealed, the expectation was that the portal would disappear, along with the monsters that emerged from it. However, the portal remained open, pulsing with intense energy.
The silence that followed was interrupted by confused murmurs from the guild members, who didn't understand why the mission hadn't ended.
"Why is the world still stable?" asked one of the warriors, his face marked by exhaustion and surprise. "We've completed the main objective, the portal hasn't appeared"
Another member, a silver-haired mage, frowned as she watched the portal. "That doesn't make sense. We've sealed the crater, defeated all the monsters... What else is missing?"
An archer, who until then had been checking his arrows, approached with a perplexed look on his face. "Shouldn't we be back at the guild by now? Why is that damn portal still open?"
