When he first found the leather bag and discovered what it was inside, Micah hadn't bothered counting how many silver coins there were inside. The only thing that mattered was that there were enough to make a difference.
It was only when he started absorbing it all that Micah realized how much of a treasure trove Hakkel had stashed away. He briefly wondered why Hakkel had so much pol hidden in a leather bag underneath his saddle without using any of it.
Although they supposedly weren't as efficient at absorbing pol as humans, demons could still grow stronger by absorbing pol. And the amount in Hakkel's leather bag should have been enough for even him to get a significant boost in his strength.
Maybe he was just holding onto the Corps' treasury and donations to the Baron or something. It could be any one of a number of different reasons.
