After getting an uncertain answer from Baldas, Rego didn't ask any more questions. He would find out what had happened as soon as this supposedly temporary darkness disappeared. But considering how all-consuming and dense the darkness was and how it had veiled his sight from before he resurrected, Rego had a hard time fully believing it wasn't permanent.
Even if there were no real reasons for him to think the darkness would stick around, it was the kind of feeling he got from it. The darkness wasn't like the weaker light that came during night, the kind one knew would disappear as long as one waited half a day.
The darkness that filled his vision gave Rego the feeling that it would last forever. When all else was gone, only the darkness invading his mind through his eyes would remain.
