Rego only lamented his weakness for a few short moments before realizing that it wasn't helping anyone, and especially not Micah. Instead, he should spend time thinking about what he can do to improve himself and how to help Micah.
The first and most obvious thing Rego could think of was naturally absorbing more pol to increase his physical abilities and eventually, hopefully, awaken his ability. He had absorbed all the pol he got from Micah with that purpose already, but it felt like he needed a lot more before he reached some kind of threshold.
But in their current situation, Rego knew that he wouldn't be a priority to get more pol. Kairon was. Tineya and Art were also probably pretty high up on Micah's list of people who would be useful if they got stronger.
