Separate from his subordinates, Micah was doing his best to avoid getting caught up in fighting the Hungry Hogs since his aim was to locate Chris in this mess and save him lest a clear-headed Hungry Hog decided to capture him. Micah wouldn't lose one of his men when there was something he could do about it.
And Chris had suffered enough. It would be too much if he were also captured and brought along if the Hungry Hogs decided to retreat.
Micah and Chris hadn't had the best start to their relationship since Chris refused to bow to Micah. But that had changed, and Chris was now fully of the mind that Micah was the boss.
And while Chris wasn't necessarily as devout as Rego, as tactically inclined as Art, even if Art hadn't got the chance to display those abilities fully aside from when he led the defense against the Hungry Hogs while Micah kept Gunnel distracted.
