Gunnel didn't waste any time, and Micah didn't resist, not that he could do very much to resist due to all the blood loss and injuries he accumulated trying to dodge Gunnel's hits.
Gunnel reached down and wrapped a burly hand around Micah's neck as he smiled.
"You fought well."
That was the last thing Micah heard if he didn't count the cracking sound of his neck being snapped before everything went black, and it felt like he started floating in a bottomless pool of skin-temperature water.
"Damn."
Baldas swore when he saw Micah die at Gunnel's hand. But he couldn't do anything to prevent it before it happened, and he definitely couldn't do anything to undo it now that it had happened. He looked at Kairon and Ystris before settling his gaze on Kairon.
"You, go again."
Kairon's sullen face followed Gunnel as he walked over and set down Micah's lifeless corpse not far from them. He only spoke once Gunnel had returned to his side.
