Kairon gasped and drew in a deep breath as he sat up like he was waking up from a nightmare.
"Hup!"
He raised his arms to protect himself based on what he last remembered before awkwardly realizing it was too late. The throbbing pain in Kairon's face and head and the fact that he lay in a slight indentation in the ground, shaped after his body, told Kairon what had happened. Hakkel had punched him and knocked him out with that one punch.
Kairon almost blushed out of embarrassment at the mistake he had made. But now wasn't the time for those kinds of feelings. He ignored his pain and stood up to see what had happened while he was out cold.
"Oh! You're up. Good. That means we can continue."
However, Kairon only had time to see Tineya's lifeless body off in the distance before Hakkel spoke to him with a friendly and enthusiastic smile.
Having learned from his mistakes, Kairon didn't lower his guard, even if Hakkel was several meters away.
