Micah nodded toward the door.
"Go ahead."
Art's face burst into a wide smile.
"Thank you, sir!"
He rushed around the table toward the door, but Micah stopped him when he put his hand on the handle.
"It's coming out of your paycheck, though."
Art turned his head with stiff and jarring movements.
"...I see. H-how- how much does an apple cost?"
Art knew they were dealing with incredibly precious goods and that the price most likely wouldn't be something he could pay without thinking about it and planning a budget first. It might even be best not to hear it and just accept his fate. But the one slice he got and the coffee had stirred a desire for food and deliciousness that had been sleeping for too long.
Now that it had awoken, it had to be sated.
"I'm thinking eighty bronze should be enough for one apple."

"Other fruits will probably be more expensive since they are bigger or there are fewer of them."
