After mimicking Micah and taking a small sip of their coffee, Rego and the others hesitated. The fact that they even managed to hold themselves back was admirable. But only because they didn't want to lose the deliciousness immediately after tasting it for the first time in a longer time than they could remember.
But then, they remembered two things.
Even if they emptied the cups in their hands, there was still a platter of fruit on the table. And there were more coffee beans in the kitchen.
With that realization in mind, Rego, Art, and Tineya downed their coffee with the desperation of people who had been stranded in a desert for weeks and finally found water.
Micah chuckled a little at the thoughts surfacing on his subordinate's faces. Their desperation and ravenous consumption of the coffee were understandable.
