[End Of Information]

"W-whoa…" Matt's voice trembled as he whispered reverently.

He was beyond dumbfounded. The System in front of him sent all the information it displayed directly into his brain, so he was able to understand everything immediately. As a result…

"I really am a Challenger. My abilities, my attributes, I can see all of them." He mumbled to himself as he once again went through his Stats.

If he had any complaints, it would be the lack of a numerical value to his strength, agility, and all of that, but Matt knew those would be shit anyway, so he decided to focus on what really mattered.

His 'Imagi' was Void Dar'k. Matt surmised that Imagi meant some sort of special ability. His attributes were darkness and flames, most likely subcategories or elements that constituted his special ability.

His Magia seemed like MP, so Matt decided to treat it as such. Still, he wasn't certain whether a hundred was a lot or not.

What caught his attention, of everything, however, was the warning placed at the very bottom of the screen.

'... This power of yours may very well consume you.' He repeated within him, realizing just how scary the warning was.

"I'm guessing you've seen its contents already. I'll need you to disclose some of the things you saw, and don't bother lying. I'll know if you do." Rose interrupted Matt's inner musings, causing the boy to jump in surprise upon hearing her words.

"W-why can't you check for yourself?" He shot back, almost defensively.

"No one can view the Status Window of another. Well, there are a few exceptions, but… haa… in any case, I am not asking for all the details. Just a couple. Besides, if you pass the exams and join the Chuunibyou Society, we'll be requiring your Status information anyway."

"W-what? Why?"

"So we can better understand your abilities and limitations. We need to know what you can do before sending you on missions or even assigning you to a team. Everything depends on your information."

Matt realized what Rose was getting at. He knew she meant no harm, but without knowing what the standards of qualifications were, he was unsure of how his stats would pass in front of all of them.

"You don't need to tell me everything. Besides, when submitting your information to the Society, you can choose to keep it confidential. Don't worry about it."

It almost seemed like Rose had read his mind and sensed his uncertainty. With his major concerns already addressed, Matt decided to believe her and tell her what she wanted to hear.

"So, what information should I give you?"

"Your Rank, your Class, and your Alignment."

All of these were important info. She was basically asking for the juicy bit—well, there was more to his Status Information than that.

'Just get this over with.' He chastised himself and chose to tell Rose all she wanted to know.

"Oh? So you're a Mage. I guess that's expected. Your Rank is as I suspected. As for your Alignment…we can work with that." Rose paused for a moment, intensifying her grin, before finishing her words.

Those words sent chills down Matt's spine, but he was slowly getting used to the dynamics here.

"Well, what now?" He asked, realizing he was still in bed while surrounded by Violet, Bee, Shadow, and the lovely Miss Rose.

"Looks like someone is quite impatient for their exam." Rose folded her arms, her expression displaying nothing short of a sadistic smile.

"Uh… not really." He glanced in Violet's direction instantly.

According to Rose, the both of them would be taking the exams together. As much as he was strangely excited about the whole Chuunibyou stuff, and the exams that awaited him, he was also dreading what was to come.

Violet seemed to be feeling the opposite of Matt's inner turmoil. Her eyes were ablaze with determination, and her face was the picture of serenity. She smiled radiantly at Matt, nodding in determination.

"Let's do our best, okay?"

Her brave smile got Matt's heart excited for a second, but he quickly quelled it. Closing his eyes and inhaling deeply, he gathered his strength and steadied himself.

"I'm ready. Let's get this exam over with."

"Haha! That's the spirit." Rose's response was all fired-up, as usual.

"I can't wait to see how you'll do, Matt! You're Op, you know? You better not disappoint us. Show us the dark flames Violet was talking about!" Bee buzzed once more.

"I am also curious." Shadow muttered beside him.

Amid the polar opposite strangers, Violet's voice and her pumped-up face were the only things Matt decided to focus on. She was the only element of familiarity in all of this novelty.

"I hope we both pass!"

Matt, upon hearing Violet's words, realized just how much he desired the same result. He had been skeptical for some time now, but was he not enjoying all of this craziness?

Hearing the truth about the world, and now suddenly thrust into some sort of fantasy exam. Why was he so excited about all of this? He would have called all of it stupid just some hours ago, but now?

Now, he was consumed and utterly immersed in his new reality.

He didn't remember his normal life, or his normal friends, or his normal plans. He had put aside all of that mundane stuff, to make room for this brave new world.

The Chuunibyou Challenge—his relevance in the grand scheme of things, and how he could fulfill his role by saving the world.

'I… I haven't felt this good since I was a kid!' Matt thought happily, his heart racing in anticipation.

"Come on, kid. Let's go."

Rose and the others left the room, and Matt abandoned his bed without as much as a second thought.

With an expectant, yet wary smile on his face, a loud thumping in his heart, and a strong sense of adventure egging him on, Matt walked past the doors of the white room.

"Challenge accepted!"
