The Cockroach King had noticed something about Rose after watching her fight with its subordinates. It had observed how she preferred to destroy them with long-range attacks. Since her element was fire, it made sense that she would be better at dealing damage on a wider, farther scale, but not as effective in close combat.
"Hehehehe! This is my chance!" the Cockroach King thought, realizing that the match was already in its favor from the very beginning. After all, it was an expert at close combat!

Moving like a blur, the Cockroach King approached Rose before she had a chance to launch her destructive attacks. It expected her to be tired from the flurry of attacks she had been dealing out, so it didn't anticipate much of a reaction from her.
