The group nodded, filing one by one into the glowing portal that returned them to the Cursed Crypts. They began to say their goodbyes. "See you tomorrow," Shea said with a quick wave.
"Don't forget to check your inventory," Bella added, smirking.
Jane paused briefly, looking over her shoulder. "And Allen? Try not to vanish like that again, or I'll find a spell to make sure you don't." She gave a mock glare, softened by the smile tugging at her lips.
Larissa smirked. "She's not kidding, by the way. Goodnight."
Allen gave each of them a small wave, his usual calm demeanor intact, but his gaze lingered on Zoe. She stood apart from the group, her arms crossed casually, her disguise long gone. Her tentacles swayed lightly.
"Goodnight, Devil Emperor," Zoe said with a sharp grin that didn't quite reach her eyes. She turned to leave, but Allen's voice stopped her.
"Zoe," he said, his tone softer than usual.
