Allen reached out, grabbing Gil by the throat and lifting him off the ground, using him as a human shield.
The arrows struck Gil's body, thudding into his flesh with sickening accuracy. Gil let out a choked cry, his eyes wide with pain and shock. Allen's grip was like iron, unyielding and merciless. He held Gil's struggling form aloft, using him to absorb the incoming projectiles.
The sound of the arrows hitting Gil's body was a series of dull thuds. The archers, seeing their arrows strike true but realizing too late that they had hit their comrade.
Gil's HP dropped to zero. Allen felt the weight of the lifeless body in his grasp, the blood-soaked form limp and unresisting. He lowered Gil's body and peeked to where the arrows came from, the once-determined warrior now a mere husk.
