Emma grinned. "We just want you to feel comfy and confident," she said. Then her grin got a little mischievous. "Plus, I gotta make you look smoking hot for the party so everyone's jealous of me," she added with a wink.
Allen pursed his lips, which somehow turned into a weird smile. 'She's definitely plotting something evil,' he thought.
Their drinks arrived, and Allen took a long, refreshing sip of his soda, feeling slightly revived. The cold, fizzy liquid was a welcome relief after the hot, exhausting day.
"So, what's the plan after lunch?" Allen asked, hoping they didn't have any more shopping in mind.
