"Well, I could be wrong," Emma added in a nonchalant tone, shrugging her shoulders. She leaned back in her chair, stretching languidly. "Can we start eating? I'm hungry," she said again, her eyes glancing at Azura with a mocking glint as if silently saying, "Happy?"
Azura turned to Jordan, trying to put on her best smile to steer the conversation back to a more neutral ground. "Yes, let's eat," she immediately added. Her swift response made the annoying smile on Emma's face disappear.
The servants moved efficiently, bringing out a spread of breakfast dishes and setting them neatly on the table. Platters of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and freshly baked pastries appeared, filling the room with delicious aromas. Everyone began serving themselves, the tension easing as the focus shifted to the food in front of them.
