Liam rubbed his temples, nodding slowly. "I know…" His voice trailed off, but then, a thought crossed his mind—something dark, something desperate. He didn't want to say it out loud, but the more he considered it, the more it seemed like their only way out. He glanced at Darren, his eyes narrowing slightly. "But what if we didn't just fall? What if we made her fall, too?"
Darren looked up sharply, his brow furrowing in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Liam leaned forward, lowering his voice to a near whisper, as if the walls of the tavern could hear him. "If we're going down... we make sure she goes down with us."
Darren's expression darkened. "How? We don't have anything on her. She's got that video, she's got Jacob eating out of her hand, and she's got enough people wrapped around her finger to ruin us without lifting a finger." He scoffed bitterly. "What could we possibly do to take her down?"
